This Stuff is Expensive  :o , but you should easily be able to get in for much less than half that cost ($1K)...if you shop smart, shop around - you should be OK...

there are some great internet dealers (don't think I can mention them here) that could save you bunches-

please feel free to email me and I can pass on those who have saved me some cash and provided great service to boot!

This was my first Large scale show & was SURPRISED that Bachmann was a "no show"  after all, York is not that far from Philadelphia.  With all the Large Scale they have I was "sure" they would be there.
Could of at least put one of everything in a large SUV & gave us something to look at.     Jerry

Jerry,

looks like while they are skipping all of  the LS Shows this year, they will travel to York on 4-23 thru 4-25 for the TCA meet...but you must be a TCA member to gain entry to the show, and leave your baby stroller and camera at home!

nice  :-\

Looked over the Calendar to the Left and didn't see Bachmann attending the ECLSTS?
but did notice they'd be at the TCA show in York mid April?

Was Bachmann planning to attend the SELSTS before it was canceled?

Hi There!

Welcome to Large Scale Trains!  to answer your question in a short manner: Yes....they do make smaller and larger locomotives and rolling stock;  In many Scales to fit the same Gauge Track....confused?  No Sweat, most of us were...

here are some links that may help....

http://www.btcomm.com/trains/

http://www.btcomm.com/trains/primer/index.htm

both of those really helped me in the beginning!

here are some links to other FREE LS Train forums that are most helpful as well...

http://www.largescalecentral.com/

http://www.mylargescale.com/

and we have a great magazine that caters to our hobby every other month (forum there as well):

http://www.trains.com/grw/

that should be enough to get you started-  ;D
I'd encourage you to join and post in the above forums, tons of great people with loads of great information!

Again, welcome!

No "New" Product Here, but did stumble over this fine model from Don Gage:

found here:
http://4largescale.com/DonGage/12.htm

"I found while searching through my idea books a 2-6-2T locomotive built for logging by The Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1913. The locomotive was built for a logging oufit in Castle Rock, Washington."-Don Gage

Now I could get Excited about that in Fn3!

Another thing to remember (or learn): the 4-4-0 and 2-6-0 are "essentially" the same loco, with one having just an additional set of driving wheels...the pilots and/or the stacks may be different according to the road name choice.  I've "heard" the American is a better "puller" though I can't speak that as truth.  I own an American, still in box awaiting RC/Batt Conversion.  I've enjoyed my "Annie" but it's a little on the small size when it comes to my other Fn3 stock, though the Banta Cab kit did make a nice difference.  I prolly should mentions as well, that all 3 loco's can be found a decent pricing if one spends a few min searching the big net retailers!

You can compare here:

Jon/John...I too agree that having the specs avail would be prudent.

Bach-man?

Anyone?

Every dealer I call has no idea?

Is there a pending announcement (thought that was to come at TF09)?

I'd love to purchase one for my Luke's 4th Birthday in March!?
