Zubi, it most certainly is true!  It was Uintah #40, and it was used on one end of the line, it wouldn't make it through the curves on Baxter Pass.  (Obviously wasn't built for a 4foot diameter curve!  )  I'm pretty sure it was scrapped when the line went out of business, and I'm not sure how it compares in size with a K-27, but I'll look up the specs and see.

Not having replacement parts has been a Bachmann trademark since the 1970's.  Maybe earlier, but that was my first experience with it...

OR...  If you CAREFULLY measure and drill a new hole in the drawbar, you can move the tender closer to the locomotive, and use the shorter plate to have a more realistic spacing between the two.  HOWEVER, once you have done this, your minimum track diameter will be 10 feet.  And that's minimum!
