Dear GS,
I guess a Big Boy, but there's no chance of that...
Happy Thanksgiving!

Dear Mark,
I will pass that idea, a good one, I think, along to the group.
Thanks!

Dear 017,
This track plan has two reverse loops which create dead shorts. They each must be wired to ameliorate this condition.
JWard has offered good advice.
Good luck!

Hey, Fellows,
Here's an interesting side note:
When I painted the prototype of the Large Scale model, I worked with author Chris Van Allsburg.
Using the book as a guide, I painted the cars blue and maroon.
"Oh no",said Chris, "the cars are green!"
Well, they sure looked blue to me, but he's the author, so he knows...
Later on, when Lionel got the rights from the movie people, they used blue..
BUT, in the scene where Tom Hanks is talking to the boy in the vestibule, the walls are clearly green. Hmmm...
In any event, our model had the green and maroon sides.
For over twenty years the one I painted was on display in the library of Viola School, where I taught Fifth Grade,
with one side green and the other blue. The kids always got a kick out of the story!
Best,

Hi, Fellows,
Sorry for the delay- I'm getting over the Covid and just got around to finding a Fred.
They are indeed sprung trucks, and the bearings turn as well- a lovely bit of engineering!
Enjoy your trains!

Dear Lamar,
Sure!
You need metal wheelsets in the trucks, some sort of pickup wipers, and a bulb or LED inside.
There might be lighting kits on the market.
Have fun!
