Probably comes down to, as Thomasj219 has said, "It's all repaints. No new tooling."

I'll admit, though it looks nice, it's kinda the same as the HO Christmas set. All repaints of existing stock.

Yes indeed.

Hence why i have not always posted, since i am working on building a relationship.

If i had my own business set up for making custom Thomas items, i would happily take commissions and propositions for characters, but sadly, my with my working life, i only get evenings to work on projects, since most weekends i am away up country seeing my partner on a regular basis.

I am truly honored to hear that so many here like what i've done with my models so far, and i will continue to model characters, no matter how much of a challenge they turn out to be, it's all for fun at the end of the day, there is no competition regarding who can model what characters better e.t.c.


Modelling is a adult hobby, a hobby that is supposed to be about working on building up skills and giving advice to others and showing what you can do with a bit of time, patience and hard work over time, not about how to be elitist and shunning everyone else's efforts. I have come across many posts here on this sort of topic, and i think that many people here have a lot of great skills, and i for one, hope that everyone else's model projects, turn out as good as what mine have.

I'm always happy to lend a hand where needed, hence why i created my blog, Facebook page and model forum.

Sorry it's been a while since i posted again, been stuck in with getting Splatter and Dodge finished off, and finally, they are ready.







They have been one of my better projects so far. And i will be using the same method to do 'Arry and Bert.

They didn't have ladders, so i shall be  modelling them as they looked in the movie.

Hey don't worry about it.

'Arry and Bert i am gonna leave and wait to see if Bachmann makes them, who knows, they could very well be around the corner or being considered by Bachmann for future release, since they have the correct molds now to make them. ^^

I hope they will be considered for the range, but if not, then i will look at making my own versions of them.

But i wanna get Splatter and Dodge sorted first.

No.. the first post i made before posting the pics clearly states that Splatter and Dodge are being produced using the Bachmann Diesels, not 'Arry and Bert.

I did toy with the idea of doing them, but, i actually feel that Splatter and Dodge are to unknown to younger fans, despite them being in a one off 'movie' they never really had any sort of background built about them, apart from being a pair of silly side-kicks to a villainous Diesel.

So, they are models i am doing, because i feel they need some background about them covered!

Cheers, i have started to sort the models out currently, what i have so far:

The chosen donor models, are a pair of Bachmann 'Thomas' Diesels, with the correct chassis and body shapes. Presently, the faces and eyes have been removed, and the chassis carefully removed from the body shell, there are four screws holding the model into place, two under the bonnet and two under the cab.

I have set the chassis to one side, whilst the bodies are being prepared for a primer undercoat.

I've decided to put Den and Dennis aside for the time being, at least till i get the chassis sorted.

Am now working on a project i have waited so long to do, Splatter and Dodge!
