Quote from: Waikiki968 on January 02, 2026, 12:23:23 PMOnce you have removed the screws that hold the two parts together, G118X-00V05 will dangle from the center gearbox; a plastic yolk connector pressed onto the shaft of the center gearbox holds G118X-00V05 on to the gearbox.  That yolk connector is somewhat fragile so you need to be mindful.  If the yolk connector breaks it's not the end of the world as you can get replacements from Bachmann (https://estore.bachmanntrains.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=69_641&products_id=10622).

G118X-00V05 has four "grooves" inside of it; two are for the yolk connector attached to the center gearbox and the opposing two are for the driveshaft.

Keith, this appears to be a 2 man job?

I got the 2 small screws out and removed the original driveshaft.  However, I am struggling to get it put back together with the new upgraded driveshaft.

Large / Re: How to replace the head lamp on a Heisler?

That's incorrect Fred!

The suggestions provided on the site you listed were just that.  There was NO definitive answer which is why I posted here on the Bachmann Trains site thinking that the experts here might have the definitive answer...  Right??

Where can I find the exploded view of this old Bachmann engine?  I want to lube the gears and see no way to get into the motorblock.

I want to replace the amber head lamp on my 3 Bachmann Heislers.  Can someone please give step by step instructions how to access the bulb?

Thanks

Ok... I think I got it.  Guess I will find out once I tear into it.

Can you please elaborate on exactly what I need to be mindful of?

I just purchased 2 of the upgraded rear driveshafts from the Bachmann parts page for 2 of my older Climax locomotives.  What are the instructions on how to remove the old driveshaft and replace with the new?  Do I need to remove these 2 screws?

Large / Re: Removing Heisler Front Truck
December 06, 2023, 08:35:13 AM
I would really love to see the pictures and get the instructions on removing and re-installing the front truck on my Heisler.  Yesterday when placing it on the track the front truck basically dropped.  I discovered that the 4 very tiny screws holding the truck to the underside of the chassis and basically backed out.  I could only find 3 of the 4 screws.  However, I can see where they need to screw in but there is no way because of the clearance that I could get a screw driver in there to do so.  So, I am at a loss of how to re-attach the truck.  Any pictures, instructions and or videos of how to do this would be greatly appreciated.

I've included links to images to hopefully explain what I am having an issue with:

Large / Large Scale Bachmann Heisler truck fell off!
December 05, 2023, 05:52:48 PM
When I put one of my Heislers on the track just now the front truck came off! Looks like there are 4 tiny screws that mount the truck to the underside of the chassis that worked their way out of which I found 3. Would Bachmann parts have these tiny screws?

It appears there is a large center screw that the mount with the 4 tiny screws hold on to. I don't see how I can get in there to screw the mount back on to the chassis.

Can someone please help and also where can I find an exploded view of the Heisler?
