Hello Yardmaster,
     Please add a wiring diagram for the Large Scale Spectrum 2-Truck Climax. I have this engine with a non-functioning rear truck. The front truck is working fine, and the engine responds to DCC commands with sound and front truck motion appropriately, but the rear truck is non-reponsive. Decoder is ESU 5 XL Thanks.

Experience with ESU LokSolund 5XL decoder and Bachmann 81487 Eureka and Palisade. Bi directional communication between engine and ESU Cab Control works when you do not connect the Bachmann PCB05 DCC jumper wires "GND"(black) and "B+" (blue) to the decoder. Thanks for advice from Stan Ames.

Tiny screw holding knuckle to coupler shaft is too short to engage its threaded hole in the shaft when the replacement hook and loop and plastic spring are in place. Anyone have experience, or knowledge of the caliber and thread count of that tiny screw or possible source for a longer screw? Bachmann part # for the screw in question is #10297; it's 5mm long and needs another mm to engage when the thickness of the hook's plastic spring is in place. Thanks

Hello All, Does anyone have experience with or recommendations on availability and method of changing Climax truck mounted knuckle to truck mounted hook and loop. The coupler shaft screwed to the face of the truck does not seem to fit the channel in LGB couplers. The Bachmann spare parts store shows hook and loop couplers that look identical to LGB. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks to all for thoughtful responses. I suspect that "Stokerman"s" comment is applicable. the "waddle" is side to side, moving the point of the pilot less than 1/8" side to side when on rolling rails. The waddle is almost not noticeable on actual rails. If the waddle becomes an issue when running on rails, I will explore analysis of how much and which wheel may be out of alignment.

Thanks. I'm a cautious newbie, and will begin a cautious exploration. The waddle is a side to side oscillation in synch with wheel (piston) cycle. I've not run it on actual track yet (mine's only up at Christmas time) but have observed it on rolling rails.

is the "waddle" of the classic Eureka and Palisades 2-6-0 a feature? or an alignment issue. Since the true drive is a worm gear on the center line of the engine, the opportunity to induce "waddle" might arise from the valve gear or side rod lubrication (all checked), some imbalance of the wheel/side rod counterweights (unlikely), drive wheel misalignment? The waddle is synchronous with the wheel revolution. Does anyone have any thoughts? Thanks.

Is the ESU LOKSOUND 5 XL decoder physically and electronically compatible with the Bachmann Large Scale Climax 85093? Is it truly plug and play or is modification and soldering needed?

Exploded diagram seems to indicate two screws to remove to loosen engine shell. Completed the screw removal, back end released, but front end seems to remain fixed. Any other tricks to remove?
