May I add to this question- I have the same situation, with the dummy board and sockets beneath. Objective is to find a decoder that will plug in and use the available space for a 14.7 v battery. Unpowered track, so has to be remote control. Not much room left for Railboss card plus sound card plus battery. Can probably shoehorn battery plus Blunami 4400 into the tender, wire it to speaker and let the 4400 supply motor voltage to "INPUT BATT" terminals on the card, keep the existing connections from tender to loco as is.
So- is there a plug and play that will talk to the Bachmann board plus provide sound?
