Thomas & Friends / Re: Narrow Gauge
October 26, 2014, 06:47:56 PM
We don't know yet, but when the Bachmann rep. said in the video that we'll be "pleased and surprised" by next year's announcement, did he perhaps mean narrow gauge? It's a really vague speculation, but there is hope  ;)

Well, to me the buffer looks like being made of ties from the tracks, and the fence maybe just some wooden sticks  ???

Thomas & Friends / Re: How about Hiro

Hiro would be great, however all of the Bachmann models had real model counterparts, and not just CGI-models. I read in an interview once that HIT sends Bachmann the dimensions of their model if they decide to make one.

It's funny you mention Murdoch...he'd be worse than Hiro if he was on a 18'' radius curve. :P

But you have to bear in mind that Murdoch as well as all of the 9F class engines have their middle driving wheel without a flange, which equals to four wheels.

Maybe the National Railway Museum in York, it isn't Thomas-related but there are many great engines, some of them are prototypes of the "Thomas"-engines:
City of Truro
Flying Scotsman
Stephenson's Rocket
Mallard (Spencer)
Stirling Single (Emily)
Aerolite (Whiff)
BR Class 9F (Murdoch)
BR Class 08 (Diesel)
Boxhill (Stepney)
North Staffordshire Railway No. 1 (Stafford)
SR Bulleid Q1 (Neville)
LMS Stanier "Black 5" (Henry)

Yeah, Kellsthorpe Station is back! Sometimes the pictures are a little bit blurry, but the track bed looks better than in Season 16!

Converting Knapford to Tidmouth looks easier than it is: you'd need at least 2 kits!

-> I made a model of the station with Google Sketchup

That happened with my Edward some time ago, I changed motors with Emily and than it worked - Emily still doesn't work. So I assume the motor is the problem.

Maybe the best thing is to remove the body shell from the gear box and push the face from inside out, that should work. From my Thomas and James the faces went off easily  ;D.

Thomas & Friends / Re: Could this be the next special?

Hi, on the front cover I'm 100% sure the engine behind Thomas is the Rocket, but I found this video on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJgwzYa0Ogs
Seems like the engine in the video is the Planet which was built by Robert Stephenson too.

O_O  i thought BMM was the last for Nitrogen Studios?

This might be the first for Arc,  and what makes me happy is thomas looks exactly the same!

I see 4 new characters on the front,  It seems this is a norm for the last 4 specials (including this,  Day of the diesels is debatable)

They ALL look american.  I wondered if that was Jack in the back,  but it has a square face.  Maybe its a more real life-ey jack? (!)

Looks very interesting.   Weird how this has made an appearance so soon after BMM  maybe we will see some toys of the new characters to confirm further.

I had my hopes up for the WW2 story that was suppose to be like Thomas and the magic railroad... :(

*goes back to the corner of a room and waits patently again*

This is not that movie.  The description says that it IS another direct to DVD(/BlueRay) release.

I think with 3 engines you are right- they are american;
but the engine behind Thomas looks like to be the Rocket.

But I think it's better if Bachmann makes less models- but this models detailed and TV-Series looking.
But it would be even better if they make much models detailed and TV-Series looking. ;)

On the Hornby Dart is a Dieselworks Logo: http://www.hornby.com/shop/locomotives/thomas-and-friends-locomotives/r9683-dart/
You can see the logo when Percy rolls into the Dieselworks.
I would make it H0.
