I've been poking around ebay lately and discovered a rare gem a vintage Bachmann E60 decked out in Rock Island paint don't believe me check it out.

so now this brings up an interesting question will bachmann get their E60's decked out in fantasy paint schemes here. okay i know that most of us don't care for locomotives that are in color schems that they never appered in but i do i think they give an interesting insight to what could have happened so i think that Bachmann should get their e60's decked out in the following paint.

1. Rock Island
2. NJ transit
3. Conrail (Williams Bachmann's latest add used to make an E60 painted like this)
4. New Haven(I think Williams also makes this.)
5. Santa Fe(call me crazy but their are just no ATSF Electrics out there and i think there should be.)

So please bachmann take a look into this suggestion and let's see if we cannot get back to the classics.

EDIT: Little It of an Edit here after some more research I've discovered that the Bachmann not only produced E60CPs back in the day but also their single cab predecessors in nonetheless Santa Fe and Chessie system any chance of bring those back to the forefront Bachmann?

well thank you all for your help i'll keep my eyes open on Ebay for that darn shinkansen. However if I cannot find one any of you have any other sugestions for nationalities. I was thinking of using the LRC to represent Canada.

first off i'm planning on making a layout based on Andrew Lloyd Webber's famous rock musical starlight express if you do not have any idea what that is get the heck out of here.

it is proving quite troublesome with finding engines in HO scale to represent the National engines. What i'm trying to find is either affordable models that represent the ones i will list below or alternatives.

I need

#1 a French TGV in either the blue or Orange color scheme

#2 an Italian Engine of some type

#3 The German ICE or a cheaper alternative German engine

#4 An HO Shinkansen preferably the 0 or 100 series

#5 a Russian engine

#6 A British engine

Plz help me out in my search

for starters in terms of steam Locomotives
The Santa Fe Blue Goose, NYC commodore Vanderbilt, Milwaukee Road Hiawatha Streamliner, PRR S1, N&W Class J, and the PRR K4 streamliner to name few.
Electric,
GE E60CP, E44, GG1, Milwaukee Road Bipolar, and the Budd Metroliners.
Diesel.
E8, PA, C-liner, DL-109, F40PH, F45, and the F9
other.
My Two all time favourite other types would be the Turbo Train and the UP Gas Turbines 

okay?........I forgot to mention that there is a turnout that leads to the adjacent track.

5. A way to avoid complicated DCC installation or if all else fails an easy DCC system that can be installed in virtually any loco.

The Problem is that i do not have a very good sence on wiring and am not good at reading those complicated instructions on the net. On top of that i'm not even sure if the engines i want are part of the era i'm trying to model. Namely the Blue goose and the DL-109. So i'm reaching out to anyone who would like to give me tips or pointers or even a better trackplan to aid me here

After much unnecessary stress amounted from trying to think of a way to model Conrail and Amtrak operation in the Electrified Corridor using the Little 4x8 plywood i have i have found that it is better to saw screw modern for now and go for something a little more toward my area. I live in Texas more specifically North Texas and if there is ever two things in common with Texas it would be this the Burlington Northern and the Santa Fe. Nowadays they both go under the name Burlington Northern Santa Fe but occasionally i still see some old Green Burlington Diesels run through here. Understanding that I have recently though to myself what would be the best way to get the most out of a Texas fell and after a quick trip to the Library I saw that their was a major revitalization of Steam here in the Lone star state. I've already began work on a Plan that looks good so far using RTS but there still some things i need to address. the requirments i need for my layout.

1. A roundhouse and Turtable. I've bought the Atlas kits it will be the main focal point of the layout.

2. A yard. Just a place to put my freight cars whenever need be.

3. A station. No Self Respecting Super chief would dare park at a freight Platform.

4. A way to run two Trains at the same time. One train just going around and Around just doesn't suit well with me.

I've run out of room and will post the rest in a moment.   

While we are on that note does anyone remember any other cool loco that went out of production or is still waiting to be rerun if you have a favorite post about it here.

hmm i see well that helps out a whole bunch but i still don't know what would be the best coaches to repaint for a commuter train by Conrail i don't want to use the heavyweights unless they are prototypically accurate but i might not have a choice.

I see well that makes sense now didn't realize that there was such a long history to the E units. those Dl-109s you mentioned what ever happened to them are any still around today?

Exactly I sent a message to Kato about the F40s how they should run them in NJT and GO colors so that way we could at least get decent commuter service on our layouts without having to resort to Ebay or repainting. Also It would seem like we never ever got a prower release for some of the most famous electric locomotives like the Bipolar, Little Joe, the Alco S-1, and the E44 Rectifier. Come on Manufactures get with the Program

So the bottom line here would probably be some Con-cor Smooth sides Repainted in Conrail Blue with the decals right? I mean that is the whole point i started this in the first place i guess i got a little carried away and started talking about repainting the diesels to  all well I guess it can not be helped we all do it sometimes. But still I wouldn't mind modeling something along the terms of the Corridor or where ever Conrail ran Luckily one of the only Train shops in town actually sells a cantarary Line for N scale so i can use that.  One more quick question though were their any other strange Locomotives used by Conrail?

well thx for your help this might make this a whole lot easier. You mentioned E units like the E44 or the E60? do they even make the 44 in N scale?

Also like i've been saying i'm not to picky on prototype when it comes to the actual layout it is just the engines and coaches i have problems with but if you have a track plan that would work for me that would be great.

I did some surfing and found an interesting photo of one of those E8s mentioned earlier it seems that they were painted in Conrail Blue before being used for the executive train.
