No, it is not a Hornby Thomas Flying Scotsman. It is a regular Hornby Flying Scotsman.

I posted this under the Bachmann Thomas forum as I know a good number of users are from the UK and may have an idea on how to fix it.

Hey guys, I didn't want to start a new thread to ask this question, so I found this one to repost.

Anyway... I recently bought a Hornby Flying Scotsman on eBay. There is a problem with the engine / tender in that the engine will work on curves, but it will not work on straight pieces of track. Once it gets to a straight section, the engine stops.

Has anyone had the same problem / know how to fix it?

I don't really see the point of just re-making all of these episodes in CGI.

I don't watch much of the CGI series, but I have been looking for the newest few from season 18 to see what all the hype was about.

Duck and the Slip Coaches I think by far is the best one of the season so far, but I'm not going to say it was perfect. The thing I liked the best was that Thomas did not have a main role in this episode... (finally!) Thomas did not resolve the conflict; rather Duck.

The part I did not like was that James was (like always) is the one creating the problem. I would like to see an episode where James does not have any rude lines... or wrongdoings.

This episode was very interesting though. I had never heard of slip coaches, and I liked the fact that an episode was about something never in an episode before. Also, Male coaches

Personally, I would say no on that. While Tidmouth Sheds is nice, (I do not own it though!) It doesn't seem too great. You could always build your own with wood/paper/paint etc. It's your decision to make.

If anybody uses scenic cement on their layout a lot, I would like to ask a few questions to see that my bottle is alright. I don't know too much about it, and was wondering what's supposed to happen with the ground cover after you use it, to see if my batch is working how it's supposed to.

I would probably stop collecting. CGI never was my style. Hmm... really depends on the engine. If they were cool I may rip off the face and add a paint job or something.

Assemble your layout in screwed together sections, easy enough to take up and down the stairs, light enough to carry with another person, and also able to be taken apart whenever need be. Pro modelers refer to this as "modular" building. 

Personally, I do hope TT#4 is another van to the range instead of a tanker, wagon, etc. As much as I like the Close Shave van, I think it's a little big when compared with other cars in the range. I would hope for something like this...



The vans from many episodes used for carrying fish, fruit and other goods, seen around Sodor quite often in the TV series, especially at the docks. 

Thomas saves the Day / Thomas and the Breakdown train etc.

Hey! It's great that you want to model Sodor. The best thing to do is probably find the maximum space you can use first, then start. I would suggest making the quarry and the docks one set that is easy to change around. Since there are many sidings, sheds and extra tracks, that would probably be the easiest thing to do.
