Ive built quite a few and they do work well, the HO gandy dancer works too! I only use the schoolbus for certain models, the drivers are larger.I cant explain how I do it,it would take days! Buy one and give it a shot!

To CNE runner, your comments were not taken as a slam in any way.Ive found that as you say do your homework their are some pretty good buys on ebay.I also attend the train shows in my area, which are dwindling,Ive noticed at least to me attendince is down and sellers and even overall quality on items for sale, again the internet and ebay have made their mark but I really think the economy has an awfull lot to do with it.

Send the card in by mail, make sure you know when you bought the set and when you sent the card. These are the first questions they ask if your loco needs repair.

The wonder of the hobby allows each of us to follow our own path,we can veer right or left as we create our world, not being a rivet counter I seem to veer alot.Although their are many photos and books covering railroading they didnt get it all.I always say 100yrs ago these fellows didnt worry about taking pics of their creations so 100yrs later nuts like us could build models of it!We have no idea what they built and even in todays world contraptions are sitting in garages being built for a certain job.Narrow gauge allows me to dream,to create GOOFY things that MIGHT have been.Im almost making a living doing it on ebay,ALMOST!We model as we want yet all share our love of trains,to each their own!

I come from the old school, dont like change, dont like technology, dont like computers. Our world is and has and will keep changing towards more and more technology weather I like it or not.My attitude on change a few months ago when our old clunker TV gave up.A nice big flat screen now sits in its place.I had taken some digital photos of a model I built,my son said to show them on the TV,WHAT??????In less than a minute Im lookin at a slide show of my work,50 inches wide and sharper than I could imagine, also shows your mistakes!Theirs no mag in the world that can do that!

Sad but true,I beleive visiting a hobby shop will soon become extint!Even grumpy old men like myself have learned how to use the computer, not that I wanted to!I have 2 small shops nearby, all HO or N gauge. You mention On30 they look at you like your an alien, which maybe I am.Ive been forced to computerize, first of all they have no clue what your talking about, second they dont have it,but can order it for you.Now I just made one trip here,if I order Ill make another, although not alot I just wasted gas money which can be used for shipping charges. So I now buy 99% of what I need on ebay, its all their,SOMEWHERE ya just gotta find it!I try to use a big seller that has alot of things I need,I combine shipping when I can, unless you buy from your own state theirs no tax,you find your items, pay, and its shipped to your door, usually pretty fast. You dont waste time or gas,or get annoyed cause they dont carry it.Never, ever thought Id see the day I would use a computer, but as I said your almost forced.

Although their are some out their who dont agree with my thoughts on gear problems it seems as days go by their are more and more railroaders with the same ole problems,GEARS!!!!!!!!Some even thinking of changing scales because of it,Once again their are thousands of brand new geared locos for sale, how do we know good ones from bad,we open the box and run it,then its too late.To me its like buying a new air conditioner in the heat of summer, unpack it,stick it in the window and plug it in,BUT DONT TURN IT ON!!!!!!!!!!!Just sit back and make beleive your cooler!

look around your workbench, now the layout,98% is probably flamable, most of it would go up in flames long before the foam,I wouldnt be too concerned.

Hello Railtwister,Well I just got chewed out by a fellow because Im bashing Bachman about gear problems and thats fine.It just seems to me theirs way too many shelf queens and static models than we need, why bother putting a motor in!

Hello JerryB,To me a month is a long time without any real answeres.I have posted my dealings with Bachman service,Im the first to admit they HAVE treated me well,Ive said that in black and white. If I was the only one who purchased a new item that didnt work right out of the box id feel different, check the postings, there are many with these issues. How many bad locos are out their that we havent heard about cause they maybe dont know about this message board, and how many are yet to be sold? Were paying good hard earned money for these models,we pay shipping on returns and if Bachman so decides a charge for repairs.Yes I am bashing Bachman, for good reason.
