If you can alter CVs, you can alter the chuff rate.
Gene

But unfortunately, the OEM Tsunami's chuff rate is linked to the throttle & not the anything the loco is doing.

Yes, this is true. You can put the tender on the track and open up the throttle and watch the tender do nothing but it sounds like it's doing full speed.

MSTSX/2 due in fall will work on VISTA and ONLY VISTA is what I've heard.

I have the same problem on BOTH of mine, one even came without one rail... Are they still under warranty after 3 years?

I like the idea of an Espee Mogul by bachmann...

I believe I was 5.

PFM office, Edmonds Beach Washington.

4449 painted black, in BNSF colors speeds by at 50 MPH hauling a BNSF ES44/AC4400W/C44-9W type diesel.

I have it on video still.

MTH has just announced its next HO loco: an SP GS-4.

Like THAT's never been done before ... (yawn)

Actually the only diecast/plastic version is bachmanns. It sounds like there should be a million plastic/diecast ones, but there is only 1 on the market now.

MTH's GS-4/6 works on DCC also, you just can't access all 29 functions. (Unless you have that NCE thing and its smart booster)

I'll probably get one, my bachmann one can't be converted to DCC without hardwiring stuff, and that my friend, I am not good at.

It might have to have the sides isolated, but I wouldn't know for sure.

Hmm, still no UP consolidation with sound.... Shocker...

Gene, we may not share tastes in locomotives, but bridges...

I could get used to that.

I do as Gene says. It winds up with the socket the plug plugs into being removed from the circuit board. They need to be stronger, is all I'm saying.

HO / Those darn flimsy little orange plugs!

I dislike those little plugs. Wires come undone easily... When you pull on the side to get them out, you rip the socket they go into out. I'm tired of having problems with those little things.

Could you condense the wires to one large plug, that is easily removed? This also would help in the issue of falling, if the locomotive did fall, the plugs would unplug and not rip wires out.

Either that or remove those darn lugs on the end. They don't really need them to stay in.

Thanks for listening to my rant.
It's over.
