I must say that I have had really good luck so far with all scales of my Bachmann steam loco's. On the other hand, I must agree that the EZ LUBE grease is nothing to write home about. Water would be as good as it is. All I am going to say is that another brand of high quality / super sticky PLASTIC COMPATIBLE grease is what I use on my loco's. It would not be my first choice to use lithium grease on my loco's. Use the product you like if you think it works. Gman

Rivarossi back in the 60's used some SUPER FLEX WIRE they called ULTRAFLEX!!! It was almost like string it was so flexible. I have wondered why Bachmann uses wire that is so stiff. I also have problems with the same stiff wire breaking if it kinks all the time like the lead truck on the big haulers.  Shape the wire as best you can & add weight. I love my Consols, they are VERY FINE running models. I love all 5 of them. R. Ronne
