Large / Re: K27 Counterweights succesfully installed

I just completed my counterweight replacement as well.

I used a 9/32 six point socket, a #0 phillips screwdriver, followed the instructions in Bachmann's photo gallery.....25 minutes later: DONE!

I also found that using an eye glasses flat blade screwdriver worked very well popping off the end caps.

I wanted to chime in and thank everyone for their time and advice in trying to fix this problem.

I have not yet run my K(LOTS going on); I'm curious if my example has the same problem as well. I'm a beginner, and though I think I understand the instructions, I'm wondering if anyone can post any close ups of the procedure. I'd really like to get this right the first time.

Thanks,

Soulmann

I just checked all the parts.....I did not see any brackets. I'll check again, and if I find otherwise, I'll re-post.

Hang in there.....it will be well worth it!

Let us know when yours arrives.

Take care,

Large / Good things DID come....

Friday morning, I received a call which made my year.  Waiting for pickup was a Green #455 K-27.

I concur with Roger's post on the packing...excellent.  A suggestion was made to me concerning UNpacking. First get the cab end out a little , then scoop your arm under the loco, and lift,  it will pop out of the packaging fairly easily.

I am totally blown away by this loco. Detail is excellent, paint and lettering sharp. This version included a spark arrestor and various other parts (I have a bag of two small black discs as well).

My project for today is to oil her up and have a little fun.  It was worth the wait!

Happy New Year to all,

Soulmann

Thanks for the info!

Hopefully good things will come to those who wait.

Large / More K-27 questions
November 16, 2007, 10:52:58 PM
Bach-man:

I've been impressed so far with the 1:20.3 offerings......keep 'em coming!

Two questions: First, the green boiler K-27. Is the boiler darker than the picture posted in the photo gallery? I'm not complaining.....I pictured a different shade of green.

Second: I was told today by my retailer that his original shipment of 50 K-27's is now only going to be 20; I will not be one of the 20.  I was also told that this is an issue that other retailers will face as well. Can you confirm or deny this statement?

Thanks,

Soulmann
