Large / My 4-6-0 wont pull
April 30, 2014, 05:19:08 PM
My "Annie" 4-6-0 from the East Tennessee & Western North Carolina has developed severe arthritis, or something.  I have gotten into the insides of several (most of) my engines without major difficulty. results are always dependent on parts availability and other things.
I hope there is someone from Bachmann, or not, who can tell me what parts I should order. The engine is in fine shape except for the lack of power.   Has anyone replaced the main gears in an "Annie" who could advise me?

Hey, Mr. Bachmann, I'd like to chime in with a request for more Annie type Big Haulers from down in East Tennessee/North Carolina way.  And maybe with a different number. They were not all numbered "12" like my "twin tweetsies" Would sure like to see more of them.  My WP&Y unit is running great.,

Kevin, from your posting I gather that you are knowledgeable about Bachmann gear trains, and hope you can give me good advice.
I have a 4-6-0 Spectrum Big Hauler which is referred to as an "Annie". It has developed a pretty serious problem. It will run OK on level track with no cars, but can't pull even one car up a shallow (1%) grade.  I have been hesitating on opening it up for repairs, since it does have a few more pieces and parts than my other Bachmann 4-6-0 engines.  Should I send it back for repair or attempt it myself? I am not sure of what new parts I would need.

Large / Anniversary 4-6-0 Power Loss
August 19, 2012, 10:23:34 PM
When my Annie 4-6-0 tries to make it all the way around the layout, running light, but stalls at the far end, it's time for serious repair.  I think the motor gearing has slipped out of alignment, or just worn out, based on the whirring sound I hear  :-\Is this something that will require a trip back to Bachmann or should I just order new parts?  If the latter, which parts are most likely suspect?
If I opt to let the "Bachman" do this job, would I need to get a return authorization first?

Do I need to ask for a return matrial Authorization before sending my 4-6-0 Connie in for repair?
