HO / Re: K4 drawbar ...

Is this concerning the new Loewy K4?
If so, whoever designed that drawbar must have been in the closet with the lights off. It is a horror!

I personally find the sounds' annoying. Then again, its a matter of personal choice.

I have the ACS-64 and a DC layout. The engine ran terrible on DC. I hardwired the motor directly to the trucks and it runs beautifully. I have a streamlined K4 on order too. Hope I don't have the same problem.

I want to personally thank Laura Harris in Bachmann Customer Service for her interest and concern with the problem with my ACS-64. She located a new body for the engine and is shipping it off to me.
THANK YOU LAURA!!

Best Regards,
Rick

When you buy a new car, or anything else, do you expect the paint to begin wearing off from 2 months of normal use? I sure don't!

Sorry, Sid. Defects don't work for me, especially on a $200.00 engine. >:(

When will parts be available for the ACS-64? The lettering is wearing off the carbody.

Thank you.

I specified I was spelling the 2 pronunciations of "consist" phonetically.

Same applies to "consist." In RR use a train has a "KAHNSIST"; spelling it phonetically. Yet something may "KUNSIST" of the following.

Len:

Contrary to what the Bachmann tech told me, as I indicated earlier I re-wired the headlights, hardwired the motor eliminating the decoder and just finished rewiring and reinstalling the ditch light and red marker leds.Everything works perfectly!
As far as the ditch lights not blinking in DC, doesn't matter. They only flash when the engine horn is sounded.

I believe the only correct PRR cars made by Bachmann were the P70 coaches, diner and obs.

HO / Re: Road numbers on E60s???

I have 6 of the American GK E60's and they are beautiful! I fitted them with Walthers and Bachmann Faivley pans.
I got to run E60s on many occasions. They could pull the moon!! Too bad they were not a great success. For me, they were the last classic American motor.

These Loewy styled K4s's also ran on The Jeffersonian between Harrisburg and St. Louis on the Panhandle.
