Large / Re: 2020 Large Scale offerings...

I can certainly see why Bachmann is backing off from G scale.  They are not in business to loose money.
I have a beautiful Buick rail truck that needs a bevel gear that is not available.  I also have a 4-4-0 and the companion 2-6-0 that are absolutely beautiful models.  However I am reluctant to run both as parts are scarce.  I also realize that they can fail in the box (plastic gears splitting on axles).  I have been tempted to purchase one of the Climax locomotives. However, I don't need another dead locomotive when the inevitable happens.  I wouldn't mind paying list price for a model that I could keep running for decades.  I do have several locomotives that have been running on my garden railway, due to the availability of spare parts,  for over 30 years.

Large / 1:20.3 rail truck gears
July 29, 2019, 02:51:33 PM
I have a new, run only once rail truck purchased from Train World 04/19/2016.  Pulled truck out of storage and it ran about 3 feet and failed.  Disassembled and discovered that the bevel gear on the driveshaft where it enters the gearbox had split.   I thought no problem.  I will call Bachmann on Monday and order a replacement part.  Talked to some very nice and helpful people in service and parts and discovered that the rail truck is discontinued and the part I need is sold out.  The aforementioned nice people offered to exchange my inoperative truck.  For $110 I could get one of several Bachmann products.  The gesture was appreciated.  I was tempted to go with the 4-6-0.  I have another rail truck and I would hate to give up a potential source of parts for my running truck.  Fortunately there are two of the gears that I broke on the rail truck.

Anyone have a junk or inoperative rail truck that they would like to sell?

Thanks,
Dennis Buckley

Large / Adding sound to three truck shay
September 22, 2018, 07:42:45 PM
I am thinking about getting one of the three truck shays.  There are none available with the factory installed sound.  I see that there is a SDCC Sound Board - AE32008 (DCC Sound) available for the three truck shay in the spare parts section.  Can this be installed in a Product Code: 82499 shay?  If so is it a plug and play proposition?
Thanks,
Dennis B.

Large / G scale Spectrum headlight LED voltage
September 14, 2018, 07:46:17 PM
Have a couple Bachmann headlights with LEDs that I want to use on a project.  What is the voltage range?  Also is there any consideration given to re-releasing the two truck Shay?
Thanks,
