I do appreciate the info and/or advice, but starting out with a language lesson wasn't necessary and is childish in my opinion. Tanker/Tank Car...everyone knows what the reference was and it really depends on which region you live in as to which term some may use.

General Discussion / Decoder question
December 31, 2017, 02:37:35 AM
I recently purchased an old Atlas HO Southern SD24 DC made in Austria. I converted it to DCC using a Digitrax DH126D decoder and a MRC 16 Bit Diesel sound decoder. The install we pretty well initially, ran and functioned well. After I put on my programming track and used JMRI to test out all the different horn sounds, the DH126D suddenly stopped responding. The sound still works fine, but no power. I did run power to the motor directly to see if motor failed, but it did work. I tried the factory reset on JMRI to reset the DH126D, but still nothing. Any ideas what happened and why?

Yep, Woodland products are incredible, but also incredibly expensive.

Unfortunately no wiring diagram comes with the harnesses. Bachmann is very difficult to get information from. Told me the engines are built in China therefore no schematic is available. I have shipped the engine back to them for repair. Will see how it goes. If not well, it will be my last Bachmann purchase.

Have any of you had good success in making your own clump foliage? If so, will you share your methods?

HO / Identifying diesel locos
December 11, 2017, 01:14:08 AM
A few years ago, a man gave my son about 20 or so Southern diesel locos. Most are the green ones. All are DC of course. Could any of you assist me in properly identifying them as they pertain to their prototypical counterpart and also as the makers of the HO? If so, I can take some pics and forward to you if you can help. I would love to clean them up and make a display case with placards identifying each loco.

Not at all in any twist...just find no humor in anyone trying to correct someone's terminology, spelling, English, etc unless it directly pertains to the questions asked. There is enough political correctness going around everywhere to make me puke.

I am not very educated with electrical....what I have are all the wires (a set of 2 going to a male plug and a set of 4 going to a male plug). The loco has the female connectors for these wired plug to go into. It is on the loco side that I do not know which pins in the female connectors do what function. If that makes more sense??
