HO / BRAND NEW BACHMANN GP35 DCC DECDODER ISSUES
May 03, 2018, 02:16:27 AM
??? I just got the 2 Bachmann GP35 Frisco DCC diesels I purchased today brand new, was running them analog to see how they ran out of the box, they ran about 20 minutes, very smooth and quiet as I have come to expect from these. But when i stopped them to add a couple more cars, and went to take off again, 1 was spinning and the other just sitting with its lights on.

I put it on the track by itself, the lights function properly, brighter in the direction of travel, and they change with direction, but still NO motor movement. Why would 1 just stop when it was running fine? I assume the decoder is bad as i cant think of any other possible reason. These are supposed to be able to operate on analog DC or DCC, so that should not have been a problem. Not very pleased. Would appreciate any assistance from others with similar issues? Thanks! ???

Thanks very much for the help. It is appreciated. I have never used the 'consist' feature before, when you said to enter the loco number, you mean the dcc id for the loco, right?  I always just use the factory default of 3 on my locos, so will this work with consist function as you have described? ???

??? I just purchased 2 Bachmann HO sound and DCC S-4 Diesel locos, and I want to turn the back unit around so i can run them back to back, but I cant figure out how to do it with my NCE Powercab. There must be an easy way to do this, besides having to swap motor wires or hassle with a consist? I am mostly a Postwar Lionel and American Flyer operator, I just have HO I run occasionally, I am not up on all the fancy DCC stuff and changing CV s and all that. Thanks for your assistance, it is appreciated! ???
