General Discussion / Re: Wire Strippers
October 28, 2020, 06:03:19 AM
i found my stripper on a german page. It is some kind of guide about strippers, only the wire kind  ;D
https://www.werkzeugpilot.de/abisolierzange-test/ Especially the part about which criteria are important helped me  a lot. Using google translate it is quite easy to get the gist. I hope the guide can help you.

You can do alot in 4x12. My best advise is to use as many 22r curves  as you can, avoid running long straightaways down the front side of your layout, and to consider the use of #4, #5 OR #6 and avoid the use of those 18r train set switches. One thing that helps is using a track planning software like Anyrail or SCARM to plan out your layout before you build. You can test out ideas on your computer before you commit to buying the track.

yess a lot of curves are a good idea! not only does it look much nicer, is much more exciting to watch, but also offers you much more possibilities to build things around it and arrange them nicely!

E-Z App / App and remote
September 24, 2020, 09:40:32 AM
Hello everyone.

Which products can I control with de E-ZApp? Is it possible with all models or only with certain ones. Can I replace a normal remote control. And can I use the remote control at the same time as the app?

thanks, Momo

Williams by Bachmann / discounts
September 24, 2020, 09:31:34 AM
Hello everyone,

i am thinking about buying a very expensive part in the near future, but i am also thinking about waiting a little bit longer. Do you know if there will be discount campaigns at Bachmann in the near future or if it is common practice that you can get a discount or not?

thanks, momo

JP of Acton MA, USA writes,

If folks are having difficulty with finding parts dealers or parts sources for traction tires, here is an 'interesting' product, Bullfrog Snot - http://www.bullfrogsnot.com/ (no, it is not actual 'snot' extracted from bullfrogs). This is basically a 'liquid traction tire' compound that will work for any scale of model train (Z to G). Use a cotton swab to coat the locomotive's wheels with this compound. When the compound 'sets' then dries, it leaves behind a rubbery surface that will help the locomotive's pulling abilities.

Hope this helps.

Thank you very much! That was very helpful my dear friend!

Williams by Bachmann / Thomas and his Friends - kids
September 24, 2020, 09:02:42 AM
i just saw that there are also thomas and his friends products here. However, I assume that these models are not suitable as toys for children are they? At what age would you recommend them?

thanks a lot

General Discussion / Einsteiger Modell
September 24, 2020, 07:42:30 AM

LG momo
