 Hi Allan

There are cars made for BHP Billiton, they come in single packs and are made by Bachmann.
I don't know the Product number but the are "Silver Series " 26 ft 100 ton ore cars. You should be able to purchase these from your local Australian hobby shop, the may need to order them in for you.
there are also other ore hoppers / gondolas you can use, I purchased some undecorated Athern 26 ft low side ore cars that will pass for these.
Bachmann have Ore cars product numbers 18601, 18606, 18614, 18629, 18642 and 18644.
18644 wood be the better choice if you cannot get the correct one these come in mineral red which would be similar in color to BHP, you will need to remove the lettering.
Try you local hobby shop first they may be able to get the correct BHP cars for you. I have a dozen of the correct cars on order.

I had the same problem with one of mine, no agent here in Western Australia. Contacted Bachmann service in America, explained the problem they provided a new tail shaft (drive assembly) cost about $10.00 which I didn't mind paying. I think it was easier for them to do that than provide small gears that could get lost.

I found the Service Dept staff very helpful, excellent in my books.

Bachmann

I,ve been looking at the site www.45mm.jp/page173.html (this is the web site for the "G Scale Shop" - Japan) at the Railbus and Trailer, and they appear to have Bachmann product codes.

#28457 Railbus with Trailer DCC Greenbrier & Big Run Lumber Co. (Green)
#28460 Railbus with Trailer DCC Pocahontas Lumber Co. (yellow)
#28461 Railbus with Trailer DCC Midwest Quarry Mining Co. (silver)
#28462 Railbus with Trailer DCC Colorado Mining Co. (green)
#28463 Railbus with Trailer DCC Little River Logging Co. (red)
#28498 Railbus with Trailer DCC (olive)
#28499 Railbus with Trailer (silver)
The last Railbus with Trailer pictured (appears to be #28499 with doors closed)
These are stated as new Bachmann products and currently in stock

As these appear to have Bachmann product numbers, is someone playing "games" or are these new products we will see in the near future?

If we are impatient I presume these could be purchased direct from this shop in Japan at approximately $170.00 each (not sure on their international trading policy) not that we want to use other that our favourite retailers.

These railcars are very similar to one that operates on 3ft 6in track from Normanton in North Queensland Australian and one that operated in South Australia, as such would be a good representation of an Australian outback Railcar.

If it is a new model soon to be available - well done Bachmann - unusual and narrow is the way to go.

Can you advise if we can expect to see these models becoming available soon?

Thanks

Craig

A source of 1/50  that may be of interest is www.topgear.com.au.
They have limited stock at present but they are advertising a 1940 Chevrolet BLITZ Military wagon (right hand drive decorated for Australian Army), it should be easily modified for left hand drive Approx $AUD 45.00.

They also have 1940 Bushfire versions of the same vehicle in their "Wrecking Yard", these could be damaged, the ones I picked up from the wrecking yard were in mint condition ( only the boxes were damaged) these are slling for approx $AUD 29.00. They also have 1/43 vehicles (Australian Holdens (GM) and Fords).
I think these are worth the look.

THe Blitz Makes an ideal load for the Bachmann On30 flatcar.
