Hi,
I was wondering if the AC power supply to the E-Z Command system was the same one as the AC power supply to the standard DC 16V power packs. They appear to be, judging from the manufacturer's photos, but I wanted to ask to be sure. Is this correct?
Thanks.

I'm prety sure I saw a F-unit.... of course, the footage could have been decades-old stock footage...

No, don't use latex paint. I'd use decal stripes, from Microscale, rather than paint to get a uniform, prototypical width.

Also, Amtrak's Texas Eagle #21, from San Antonio to Chicago, has derailed twice in the past two days!

EDIT: Here's a link to the first derailment:

Okay, that was about what I was thinking. I think I'll still go for a Walthers or similar turntable.

HO / Length of E-Z Track turntable
December 12, 2009, 08:22:40 PM
Hi guys,
I see the long-wished for E-Z Track turntable has been released, in the Thomas line. Thankfully, it looks like it can be fairly painlessly adapted to fit prototype modeling.

http://www.bachmanntrains.com/home-usa/products.php?act=viewProd&productId=3096

Does anyone have this already? If so, what's the length, in scale feet, of the turntable's capacity? (ex: 90', 120', etc.)

His main advantage was that he had lots of Masonite, while buying huge amounts of foamcore can add up in a hurry.

General Discussion / Identifying turnout size by sight
November 25, 2009, 11:11:24 AM
Hi, I'm selling some old Tru-Scale turnouts for a friend. Some of them are labeled, but some aren't. I need to know what size they are (#4, #5, #6, etc.) I'm not experienced enough yet to be able to identify the different types of turnouts by sight.
Can one of you identify the size of these 6 turnouts? (The rest of his I've identified already)

A.

B.

C.

D.

E.

Thanks for your help, in advance. I'm still a relative novice, and haven't learned the 'tricks of the trade' when it comes to identifying turnouts!

Hi,
recently I've been selling a few things on eBay. I've noticed that some sellers post photos in the description of eBay listings, presumably to get around fees for uploading more than one photo.
How do you do this? Is it as simple as the [ i m g ] ... [ / i m g ] (without spaces) code used on this forum, or what?

Thanks in advance,
-Paul

General Discussion / Re: Stop Signs
November 08, 2009, 10:46:36 PM
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't 1953 the year they officially changed it to red-and-white?

For those that lived through it, how long did it take for the yellow stop signs to be phased out?

General Discussion / Re: Texas State Railroad
November 08, 2009, 10:43:43 PM
I'm so glad the state managed to sell it to American Heritage (the people who own the Durango & Silverton, etc.)

Just a couple years ago, the plan was for the railroad to be turned into a static display due to a lack of funding.
