On30 / Re: Trolley Minimum Track Radius

I have set up a small Christmas theme using the trolley and the track radius I use is less than 10". Runs around these curves without any problems at all.

Did you the full size or micro Tsunami? It sound like you removed the Bachmann interface board also?

Yes I did remove the interface board and hard wired the Tsunami. It was the only way I could make it fit.

QuoteUse 1/4w 680 -750 ohm resistors.

I use 680 ohm in all mine, however if your track voltage is above 14v use the 750 ohm.

Then you will not blow the led's .

Thanks Tim.
The Tsunami instructions recommended 680 ohm resistors when wiring up LEDs but I wasn't sure if that would apply in this case.

On30 / Installing Tsunami Decoder into a Climax?
September 19, 2009, 11:57:15 PM
Hello,

I have just about completed the installation of a Tsunami decoder into my On30 Climax and all that is left to do is wire up the forward and reversing lights.  What I need to know is what size/type of resistors do I need to use?

Thanks.

On30 / Re: Gears on the Shay and Climax

I was wondering if I can buy the gears and install/repair it myself ?

Nick

I also had a gear failure on my Climax and after an e-mail to the service department they sent me the replacement parts required for the necessary repairs.
As I have said before, great service from Bachmann ;D

If you want one of the new hi-bass speakers, the Bachmann circuit board will have to go.

You will then have to hard-wire the decoder.

That's interesting.
So if you wish to install a decoder that doesn't have the NRMA 8 pin plug attached you can just remove the circuit board from the locomotive and just hard wire it? ???
I assume you can do this to any DCC ready locomotive?
The reason I ask is I have a DCC ready Climax and a Tsunami decoder but have not got around to installing it yet. With the limited space the removal of the circuit board would make an easier job of installing the decoder and the speaker.  :D

On30 / Thank You
June 16, 2008, 12:24:11 AM
This is a big thank you to the guys and gals at Bachman Industries, especially those in the service department. I recently purchased an On30 Climax locomotive which unfortunately suffered a drive shaft failure. I completed an Online Service Form explaining my problem and basically asking what steps I needed to take to resolve my problem. To my surprise ten days later the parts required to repair my locomotive turned up in the mail. Not to shabby considering I live in Australia. ;D
Service like this certainly inspires confidence and I have no hesitation in purchasing more locomotives from the Bachman range.

So once again, thank you.  :D
