N / Re: 'USA' tank engine

-actually, there was a limited run whitemetal body kit of the USATC  S-100 switcher, which was made by Roger Chivers in England about ten years ago. It was designed to fit on a ROCO  BR80 six wheel chassis.. With a bit of tweaking and filing it runs quite well. Good weight. I have one done in WWII  USATC green.
-I believe he stopped making them, but haunt British e-bay (e-bay uk) occasionally and one may turn up. Try "Chivers Models"
-it would be nice if someone did a similar body kit  or complete model for the S-160, the Army  2-8-0, which served even more widely and could be found in many countries around the globe. I have suggested it to Bachmann, since they do world wide N scale models. It would fit nicely into a US (tourist or military), British, European Continental, or Chinese layout.

General Discussion / N Scale 44t switcher
July 17, 2008, 11:21:26 PM
     -First Reaction: Oh Joy!

-Second Reaction:  Oh No!   DCC only?? What about the legions of old Bachmann DC only fans. Do I have to snip and chop wires to operate this loco on my ordinary plain vanilla DC railroad?

-will you do a DC locomotive run of the 44t. locos? I would love to have a New Haven.

-alternatively, will you include factory guidelines about how to convert a DCC locomoptive to DC.

Many Thanks

Roger
