I think half of my posts on this forum have been expressing my interest in an outside framed 2-6-2 tender engine for On30. 

A Maine style 2-6-2 in On30 from Bachmann is the last item on my wish-list that I haven't ticked off. Please Bachmann! Please!

That will be NGG13 No.50. Nice to hear it's still in operational condition if so. I think it might be the only Garratt locomotive in North America.

There are quite a few NGG16s back in the UK now. No.130 has nearly finished being rebuilt to be the fourth of the class to run on the Welsh Highland Railway.

They have appeared in many pretty colours too: Black, red, green, blue...

The NGG16s were the largest locomotives ever made for 2ft gauge, so I wouldn't exactly call them little.

129 has been re-gauged to 2ft 6" to run on the Puffing Billy Railway, which is convenient for us as a model of it would be accurate for On30.

The other garratt G42 was one of two 2-6-0 0-6-2 locomotives built for the Victorian Railways in Australia. Haskell made their only other class of locomotive in On30, the Na 2-6-2t, so a G class garratt would be a perfect addition.

If Bachmann made either of the garratts seen in the video in 1:48 for On30, it would be a definite purchase for me.

Bachmann Europe PLC of Barwell, England produced a Baldwin 10-12-D 4-6-0 in 009 (4mm/ft, so not exactly HOn30).
Bachmann Industries, Inc. of Philadelphia, USA produced a Baldwin 10-12-¼D 2-6-2 in On30.

Although there are some design similarities behind the scenes (the rear water hose is identical in design) the two Bachmanns are separate companies.

Personally, I think as only a few new items have been offered in On30 lately and even less in Large Scale, introducing an all new narrow gauge range could dilute the market further when it is already thin.

As this is the Bachmann forum, I would like to say as an On30 modeller I am very grateful for any product in this scale. I hope the 10-12-¼D was well received despite its design compromises. I'm still patiently waiting for a Sandy River style outside framed 2-6-2 tender engine. 

Can you provide more information for those of us without access to the 'Gazette'?

The only 2-6-2Ts I have seen in On30 were one from Backwoods Miniatures (on an HO chassis) and an Na made by Haskell Co.

It appears to be the National Train show next week, which is usually when Bachmann announces their new models.
I hope this means that there is a new Bachmann On30 model that is advertised in the Gazette.

I am glad to see the tribute to Lee Riley as I was worried Bachmann wouldn't have the drive to continue with On30 without him.

I wasn't expecting anything new in On30, so this was nice to see. I hope Bachmann are rewarded for continuing to release items that we suggest. We just need an outside framed 2-6-2 now... 

I will be tempted to get a PRR one to go with my original 2-6-0.

...and I really hope the sound module has some different whistles from all the others.

For me, and others the great thing about On30 was the scope for customising. The 2-8-0 with it's different smoke box options and the forneys with inside and outside framed versions was genius. As a result I now own two of the former and three of the latter.

I feel the On30 loco range has been lacking in this recently. The increase in cost makes things difficult as it makes me think twice about buying a new loco. Yes the 2-4-4-2 looks nice, but I already have a 2-6-6-2.

There are still some winners though. The heisler is an exquisite model and the 18ft cars are ideal for my layout and I struggled to get mine as they were selling out so fast!

Has Bachmann ever considered making a loco in On30 that is not part of the Spectrum line? I think something like (or exactly the same as  ) the Big Hauler 2-4-2 would be popular.

Very disappointing. I'm surprised no more 18ft cars have been announced as the first lot seemed to be very successful.

I'm still hoping for a 2-6-2, but I'm not holding my breath. 

In the past most of the NMRA announcements appear first on the Model Railroader website.

There is a 8pin socket in the bunker. Just plug in an 8pin decoder. It's the same with the climax too.

Do you have any idea when the 18 ft. Box Car with Murphy Roof is planned to be released? I think they were meant to be here this time of year, but I haven't seen any yet.

I'm really glad Bachmann made these. They have a great amount of detail which matches the loco range nicely. I also have quite a small layout, so they are really useful.

I hope Bachmann consider making a caboose that is the same style as the 18ft. cars. With similar features as the Side Door Caboose, which is another great item.
I would also be interested in an 18ft Pulpwood Car, which would be quite easy for Bachmann to make.

I started to scratch build a SR&RL 2-6-2 a few years ago because I got bored for waiting for a RTR one. I lost interest in building it because I knew it would never be as good as a Bachmann one.

Please Bachmann, you seem to have done all the other 'classics'. An outside framed 2-6-2 would be a great addition to any On30 fleet.
