Hi:
Contact me directly and I will put you on my list. I have a friend who is
in need of the Climax drive shaft parts so maybe the manufacturer could
do something about the Climax problem also.

HO / Bachmann HO scale 3 truck Shay gears
September 13, 2008, 07:02:21 PM
Hi:
Some months ago I communicated with several folks who had split pinion
gears in their B'mann HO 3 truck Shays. I am now dealing with the possible
manufacturer of replacement gears as Bachmann wont replace these.
Anyone with this problem please contact me directly and I will pass on the information.

I shall patiently wait.

3 questions of this forum.

First, does anyone know how to get  an oil tank for a model of a
Bachmann HO scale 3 truck Shay rigged as an oil burner ?

Next, same question but for a shot gun stack for this model ?

Last, what constitutes a "sticky" topic on this forum site ?

Hi:

I have 3 of these and:

1. on level track and at a very slow speed they will jerk minimally.

  2. when going down a  steep grade (7%) they all jerk badly but I have
       made a successful fix.

I will gladly give you my modification if you contact me directly, it is quite
lengthy to describe but easy to do.

Hi:
I have a similar situation with an early version of a Bachmann GE 44
tonner. As a previous poster said the gear cover needs sanding.

Hi again:

I just went to Ebay, typed in Bachmann 2-10-2 and there are several
for auction -- a couple with a very low opening bid. May pay to
watch these as this may be another option for you.
You are correct -- it is a beautiful looking locomotive.

Hi Mal:

I don't know if this is an option for you or not but I have found by
telephoning Bachmann (a toll free number for me in Canada) and asking for
Tom in parts I have had good service.
