Any further info on the actual arrival time?

On the Ecconami equipped engines, set CV 113 to a value higher than 0 (default) This will enable sound only after engine is selected and starts moving. The higher the value (up to 255) the longer the sound stays on after the engine is de-selected. Of course the sound can be silenced with F8 and it will stay off, even if the power to the track is shut off and back on.

just received this info from Bachmann:
"The 4-6-4 had die cast-boiler."
Very good news as it makes this probably a good puller. ;D

The not mentioned body material originated my original post, as Bachmann produced the 2-8-0 and the 4-8-2 upgraded with DCC and sound but they both have plastic bodies.

Does anybody know what material the engine body is made of, i.e. metal or plastic, as Bachmann used both in their past productions of steam engines.

N / Light Mountain Shell Swap
July 07, 2019, 11:53:51 AM
has anybody tried mounting the shell from an older (non sound) Bachmann 4-8-2 Light Mountain onto the new sound Light Mountain chassis? I have a custom decorated shell from an older version which I want to mount on to the latest sound version.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

thanks for all of the suggestions, but I was looking for the original cases in case of re-sale of the engine.

N / Plastic Engine Storage Boxes
May 20, 2019, 01:21:36 PM
Hello Bach Man,
please advise why you are not selling these N scale plastic storage boxes as a separate item.  If an engine storage box gets cracked or is otherwise damaged, there is no way to replace it at the moment.  It would be nice to be able to replace it.

Mounting the speaker underneath the coal bin with holes drilled through the coal load work very well. I've done all of my steam that way (with the exception of those having a speaker mounting provided from factory)
The heavy mountain has a metal coal load, so drilling is a little more complicated, but can be done. (don't forget to paint the holes black after drilling as the blank metal will show.
