Did you use a bus wire or just splice the red power wires that come with the terminal track together? Also do you have a power booster?  I am new to dcc and just trying to gather as much info as possible. Thanks for your help

Thanks Bob, the link was helpful.  The cars have horn-hook couplers and I like the look of the EZ Mates, but if they will not work then so be it.

I read on a post that you should break in a DCC loco on a DC system but I cannot find that post and do not remember the details, so what is the best way to break in a new DCC Loco?

Is there a way to connect Bachmann EZ Mate couplers to a car that has couplers mounted on its trucks?

The table is up against a wall the length of the room so going to 5' would make it impossible to reach the other side, but that would be a great idea other wise.

Ok is there a reference I can refer to because complex to me probably is not complex to someone with more experience.  I am planned a layout with 2 seperate main lines one is a big oval (4' x 11') and the other is an oval (inside the first one) with a "S" curve on one side eventually opening one end up into a yard of some sort after I expand the table.

I am starting a layout using Bachmann EZ Track and a Bachmann EZ Command DCC controller. My question is do i wire the EZ Track the same way as a conventional track with the bus wire and feeder wires connecting the track to the power supply?  The plan book that came with the first set only shows connecting the power through a power rerailer track and only one per layout, but that is using DC not DCC.

I have a EMD SD40-2 loco that I am looking to upgrade to DCC with a Bachmann decoder.  I was wondering how I can tell which decoder to get, the one with the plug or the one to hard wire?

This may be a dumb question but can you still run your dc turnouts with their button switches off of the dc power pack?
