I second that!!  How about a special push/pull set.  A powered GP38 in the blue/white paint scheme and a dummy F7 or PA engine.  This would be a huge seller!!  MTH, Lionel and RMT LIRR products are always huge sellers.

You guys are really tempting me to pull the trigger on a WIlliams steam engine.  I was thinking about the scale hudson...however I'm not a fan of a tether.  I wish I could hear the whistle on the Williams...If the diesels were a single blast I would buy more engines...How do you guys like the whistle on the Williams steam engine?

A Long Island RR GP38 and non powered FA unit would be nice (In the blue/white wave scheme).  Nobody has done this yet!!!  Considering that the sales of the Lionel LIRR M7 sets have been outstanding....  LIRR combined with the quality of Williams = homerun!!!

3rail,
My post/reply concerning the potential misperception of the service department seems to have initiated some great discussion/clearing the air and a public apology by MB425. It most certainly makes me and I'm sure others feel more comfortable about supporting the Williams by Bachmann line of products! Thanks for helping set things straight.

Thanks again,

Lately I have seen several posts on this and other O gauge forums about the lack of service from Bachmann.  I have to admit that it has me concerned about buying any future products.  O Gauge products are not cheap and it seems that good customer service is what stood Williams apart from the other manufacturers.  Larry Harrington and company...whatever the issue is please put your arms around it and straighten it out.  The lack of acknowledgement with a solution may give your faithful customer base the perception that you don't care.  Not Good..People are voting with their wallet these days.  Just a thought.

Bachmann Product Design Team,

Is Long Isalnd or RF&P motive power a possibility?  Will Bachmann consider small road names or are we going to have to rely on MTH and Atlas to fill this market?

Williams Long Island passenger set with GP38 and a dummy FA? BRING IT ON!!!!!!!  Now thats what I'm talking about!! I've posted this request on the OGR forum and have contacted MTH in the past but with no luck!  If Williams would produce Long Island and RF&P passenger cars and motive power...they would have ALL my business.  Lets make it happen Mr Harrington!!!! Does it sound like I'm a liitle hopeful? YES!!!  Perhaps Nassua Hobby can contract Bachmann to produce an exclusive set...they already did this with an Atlas LIRR ready to run steam set.

No they aren't.  I believe the only scale steam is the scale Hudson.

From rumor...nothing much...some Street trollies,,,and Milw Rd and Tex Spec E-7s (not really new because they appeared in the 2008 catalalog). Sure does seem like a slow start.,...real slow...Over the top (Lionel) and too conservative (Bachmann)...leaves room for MTH to WOW us...wait and see I guess,,,,,

3rd Rail,

Thanks for the info...Bummer..... >:(.  I was hoping to put a Lionel tender behind the Williams 773.  The one thing that stops me from spending much more $$$ on the Williams product is the horn/whistle.  I'm not saying that I want fancy electronics or command control just a better sounding simple (one blast) horn or whistle.  I would even say if you took the TBII and just made it one blast that would be a great improvement!!  I'm still a huge fan..I just ordered the Rio Grande Heritage unit for my 10 year old daughter from Marty at Ma and Pa Junction!!!  She loves the Rio Grande scheme and I decided to go with the Williams due to the warranty and for a much greater purpose.  Hopefully, years from now when she takes the train out it will be the catalyst for her to share stories abouit the fun times we had together playing with the trains. I still share stories with my kids on how I use to play with my Dad's postwar trains around the Christmas tree! In order for that to happen, the engine will have to still work  ;) and with Bachmann behind the Williams line I feel pretty confident that the support will be there for many years to come especially considerng how Bachmann is positioning itself in the O gauge market with the purchasing of production facilities.  Didn't mean to ramble on but for some of us toy trains represent tradition and great memories are more that instant gratification!!  Keep up the great work!!

A horn/bell that sounds like the newly released Lionel Conventional Classics would rock!!

In addition to the drawbar are there wires that connect the engine to the tender.  The MTH Railking steam engines have a drawbar and an electrical tether that plugs the tender into the engine

Is there a tether between the engine and tender on the scale hudson?

Thanks,
