Here's the difference in bodies between the new Climax (left, oil fired) and the old one.....

Being UK based, I use PECO G-45 track - the rail profile is less, giving what I think is a more realistic look, although the ties are all evenly spaced and of even lengths which is a shame for a supposed narrow gauge road.

Thanks guys - you know me, the main concern was that it has metal trucks :)

I have just bought one of these off Ebay - the seller says it has the metal trucks.  Can someone please confirm that this model is indeed fitted with metal trucks and the new drive train ?

Many thanks

I agree Bob, that would be very nice (as long as it has metal gears  ;D ;D ;D ;D )

It would be nice if they re-introduced the saddle tank body for the 0-4-0.  I managed to get hold of one, and "modernised" it with an Aristocraft (?) slope=back tender, having seen at least one example of this being done.

Or another small loco for switching (or shunting, as we call it over here :) )

Thanks Guys :)  By the way Bill, I followed the info you gave me on deconstructing the Annie.  What a pig to get back together ;D

A superb, affordable model with metal gears, makes this a sought after loco on the Broome Lake & Eastern.  One has the body of a short C19 tender on the original tender chassis, the other is mated to the Consolidation tender (surplus because of the Conso gear problems)

Keep 'em coming, Bacchy, great models !!!!

As always - thanks Bill :)  I've actually sent for a different body, instead of bastardizing the cab.  It'll look much neater and match my  existing Annie :)

Bill, sorry to be a pain (again) but please could you tell me -  how does the body come off the chassis on the facelift Annie ?

You are a Gentleman and a Schlolar (as we say over here) Yardmaster - thank you.  And please don't think I was having a go at Bachmann U S - they are the ones who have me embroiled in this superb hobby, following US Narrow Gauge :)

Please don't get me wrong Bill - but it's just that when I am told something, and find that it's not quite right, I have to question it :)

EDIT :  That is a brilliant link you sent, Bill - thanks so much.  I have a feeling that my problems may be solved.  The strength of feeling that may come across, is because I think the Conso is one of the very best models produced - ever.  And, as you can tell from my photos, I am a HUGE fan of Bachmann U.S.  :)

Bachmann U.K. and Bachmann U.S. do not sell each other's products. If you purchased it in the U.K. it must have been imported by a hobby distributor. In the same vein Bachmann U.S. does not sell or service Bachmann U.K. products. Two separate companies.....

I hate to disagree, Yardmaster, but please click on this link :

So surely they should offer to repair locos - I am not talking about under warranty, I would gladly pay to get the repair done (ie the replacement metal gears for the Conso)

Took a bit of getting used to Bill - thanks for the comment :)

Indoors, a photoreal backdrop does it every time for me - except where it's not possible :)

I've changed the tender body on the Annie.

(The railway does eventually go out to the garden)
