Hi, the 70 tonner was built between 1942 and 1955, although the earliest models were built with a center-cab. I don't know when they switched over the the end cab version that Bachmann models. The 45 tonner was built between 1940 and 1956. Several 70 tonners are still in service. All the existing 45 ton locomotives are in museums or on tourist railroads.
For other diesels from a similar period there's the Roundhouse 40 ton model, which is now pretty hard to find and demands about $100 on a certain auction site. Grandt Line offers a kit for a locomotive that's between 20-25 tons.
For earlier diesels, the only option you have (that I can think of) would be the Roundhouse box cab. Again out of production for a while, and it needs quite a bit of drive train work to get it to run well.

Glad to see all new Porters myself. Sure, I'd love to see new locomotives, but even for someone who likes bigger locomotives, you gotta love the Porters. I'll be getting a couple with sound.

I'll pre-order 2 Climaxes with sound the second they're avalible. That's been my most wanted locomotive for years! The 4-4-0s and Birneys sound good too. Can't wait for pictures tommarow!

The HO standards are good to follow for that, many of the motors in the ON30 locomotives are also used in HO locos. So 0-16V is probally good (I prefer to stay at 12 or lower myself just to be on the safe side, and being narrow gauge the locomotives don't need to go that fast anyway.)

Yes they do, however Northwest Shortline has a gear replacement kit out for the HO shay (about $25) so when it fails you can fix it.

I use normal tacky glue (gold bottle) for wood and metal. For plastic I use the Testors stuff previously mentioned.

Oh, Jack, St. Aubin has several road numbers in stock. They also have some of the C-19s left.

Well, everyone knows how I fell about this one 
Count me in for 2 pre-ordered and as long as they have no issues then 3-4 more spread out over the next couple of years (for the wallets sake : ).

I can't wait for mine to come! I placed my order within half an hour of it being posted on their website (was checking all day) so I was hopping to get mine first. Oh well, I know it'll be worth it.

The one in the picture above that was running sounded very good, although not ver articulatedly 
Here's a  video of it running, I think the size was very well proportioned to the Bachmann freight cars.

I'm very happy with how it looks, I still stand by my belief that the pre-production sample is UGLY, but after seeing the model in person I'll be adding one to the roster once they've been out for a little while (since the price seems to loose about $50 after its been out for six months or so). Altogether it looks like a nice addation to the Bachmann ON30 lineup (and the cabooses looked very good to, by the way).
