You're right about it being no help. I must have gotten old parts when I ordered them a few weeks ago. I solved the problem by putting the original rails on the new chassis. Thanks for your help and comments.

The obes that I have have hex heads. I see what you mean in the picture but Bachmann sent me the rails with hex head screws.

Thanks. My concearn is that any if these devices would be prone to dropping the screw. Soemwhere, there has to be a nut driver that fits those screws. I don't know how much a jewlers screwdriver would be since there are no slots on the screws. They are all hex head.

On the 4-6-0 anniversary edition, there are small screws holding the pilot rail to the pilot. How do you install those little screws? A nut driver would be good but I can't figure out what size I would need. I'm afraid that using needle nose pliers would result in the screws flying all over the room.

The problem was a brpoken wire on the headlight LED. It is basically unaccessable without removing the boiler. Even with the boiler off, there is no obvious way to remove the smokebox front and the headlight wires are too short to work on without removing the boiler.

I am suspicious about the connector to the tender. How do I figure out which wires and cable are for the headlight?

I am working on a C-19. The headight kept failing and now seems quite dead on both the DC and DCC positions. I want to get to the switches behind the smokwbox cover and the circuit baord behind it to find out where the system is failing. Do I habe to pull the whole boiler to do this?

I got it new, in the box. I don't see how a split gear can cause the engine to go out of quarter. I do see how it could bind or slip.

I have a 2-8-0 that has never been run. I just unpacked it and hooked up the tender. I connected a power pack to it and turned on the power. The drivers are binding at 3 spots in each revolution. I stopped it when it bound up. Looking at the left side, it is obvious that the #3 driver is out of quarter from the other 3 drivers. What can be done about this?

I have been working on a K-27 (Installing radio control). It appears that this engine has the dreaded counterweight problem. I can not find them as replacement parts. Are they no longer available? Are they the same as the ones on the 2-8-0?

Large / 3 Truck Shay smoke unit question

What voltage does the smoke unit operate on? I mean the voltage actually applied to the smoke unit, not the track voltage.
