HO / ds64 aUTOMATIC CHANGING DURING POWER UP
March 03, 2015, 03:36:18 PM
Has anyone using DS64's with Atlas Snap switches incurred automatic changing positions on the switch on power up of the platform?

HO / Non-DCC turnouts not making total contact
December 05, 2014, 02:11:25 PM
Back in 2013 I posted a topic concerning non-contact on turnouts (or as I call it "Bounce Back points") controlled by Digitrax DS64's.
Back to the that subject (I take time off in summer to golf and return in non-golf weather). The set up on each switch is as follows...The wire from the turnout goes to a Digitrax DS64 and to a Atlas Snap Relay (used for control panel LED display). The three wires from the turnout are spliced together (individually) with wires from the DS64 and then attached to the Atlas Relay contacts.
Of the 15 turnouts I have on the railroad 13 work fine. There are two(2) that are really giving me this "bounce back" problem. What happens is once I press the button to change the direction of the points it will go in that direction and then "bounce back" from the rail enough to cause a derailment.
I then decided to create a "test" track with the same conditions. It does the same on the test track.
Any ideas???

Thank you for your responses. At this point I have checked everything I can and found no resolution. As a possible last resort I am going to upgrade my power supply to 5A and see what happens.

Being new to the hobby of trains and not being an electrician I sometimes have problems with the electrical part of a train display. Here is a problem that I do not understand (The answer is probably pretty simple).

Layout information..Digitrax Zepher Command Center with 402 hand held throttle. Running all trains in DC mode using Loconet. ALL track is Bachmann E-Z track. All Turnouts are Bachmann non-DCC remote turnouts using a Digitrax DS64 to control the turnouts.
The problem is when you activate a "Throw" or "Closed" command from either source the points will move either 100% or something less than 100% thereby not making full contact and causing a derailment. Sometimes when it does not make full contact it takes a few commands to make full contact or you have to wait 3-6 seconds then reissue the command.

Any thoughts on what might be wrong?

Thanks

DCC / Re: DCC TURNOUT USING DIGITRAX EQUIPMENT
January 10, 2014, 04:51:31 PM
BAPGUY...Thanks. Will try it in the next day or so.
Questions that you might have an answer to.
1) There are 2 turnouts on a crossover. Can I program each separately as if I was programming individual turnouts?
2) I am trying to run LEDs off of each turnout on my layout (The turnouts now are going thru DS64's and they are not DCC; however they are Bachman's) with Atlas 200 Snap Relays to control the LEDs. They work the way I want them to.

I appreciate your response.

Thanks

DCC / DCC TURNOUT USING DIGITRAX EQUIPMENT
January 09, 2014, 04:01:39 PM
Just received a Decoder equipped DCC Turnout (Right crossover). Reading the instructions. Apparently this unit is made to be used with Bachman's DCC E Z Command controller. I am using a Digitrax Command station with Digitrax switch control units. Paid a good price for the turnout now feel that I have suffered a loss since I have no idea how to set up this unit with the Digitrax equipment. >:( Anybody have any ideas ???

HO / Use of Toggle switches on EZ TRack
March 22, 2013, 10:11:02 AM
I would like to use toggle switches on #5 turnouts instead of the manufacturer product included with the turnout. I prefer to use some type of momentary toggle switch instead of a Center closed switch. Does anybody have any suggestions as to how I can accomplish my objective ???

Thanks
