You might like to try the merest smear of WD40 on the inside edge of the rails, applied with a cotton Q-tip.

This should give a bit of relief, and as long as you don't over-apply it, should not affect the traction or running.

Just a thought.

Happy running!!!

Superb work and wonderful detailing!!

Thanks for sharing, Fred!

(My only little gripe is that the bloke shooting the video should invest in a tripod, just to keep the camera shake to a minimum.......)

Again, wonderful work!

Great animation, I agree!!!

Probably a small point, but the whole scene is only missing a bit of ambient sounds....

(I should like to see how the movement effects were achieved......)

Thanks for posting, Fred.

Hi Terry,

You could try a magnet. I have managed to find a few odd lost pieces in carpet this way, over the years.....

Hi John,

I don't know about this particular model, but on some of the ones that I have seen and built, this has been the exhaust pipe from the steam generator for the electric lamps.

Don't know whether it is applicable here, however.

(Nice photo, by the way.....)

"Not all things you see or read on the internet are true....signed by Abraham Lincoln"

Love it!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

"Pretty amazing how much that little locomotive could pull and the rate of speed it was clipping along at."

My thoughts exactly!!

She was doing a bit of a major 'wobble' across some of those none-too-good track sections.

Nice video though.

Thanks again for sharing, Frank.

One Garrett = Great!

Two Garretts = Wonderfully Great!!!

Some great scenery, and sounds.....and one can almost smell the smoke......

'Boadicea' and her big sister....You've got my vote!!

Hi there Jkemp,

I'm not sure how far you want to go with this HO to On30 track conversion, but if you choose to use the Peco On30 track, the sleepers are quite nicely spaced as is.

However, I also 'cheated' a bit, on my On30 layout. I used a lot of existing Peco HO track, and removed every second or third sleeper and spaced the remaining ones at varying distances from each other. This gives a rustic, not-very-well-maintained appearance.

After the final ballasting was done, the apparent length (or lack of length!) of the sleepers is not even evident, unless one looks very closely.

Just my thoughts.....

That means we'll see ours, here in Oz, around about mid-winter......(July)

It doesn't pay to be in too much of a hurry.......

Very interesting!

(Gotta LOVE that seam-shovel at the beginning......)

I was pretty amazed at how the rig carrying the sections of rail, being pushed by the locomotive, was running on rails that were just sitting there....without even a plate or a spike to stop them from tipping over, and causing a derailment....

Thanks for posting, Fred!

Very nice!!

I especially love the 'glowing' steel ingots on the rollers......

Very nice.

Shovelling snow, to keep the NG line open.....

(I especially like the little snowman which was flattened by the locomotive....) ;D

That is really COOL....

(and I DO mean COOL!!!......Brrrrr)

What an amazing machine.

Thanks for posting, Fred.
