These are super little engines and trucks but can I please ask that they are shipped with or at least you make available the brackets (as with Thomas items) to lower the coupling to match standard large scale height. I can see some very disappointed junior railroaders on Christmas day who cannot connect their new trains to their existing ones.

Large / Older Side tank locomotive gears - very old
December 10, 2012, 07:31:45 AM
Hi
I just found some very old stock 90017 Large scale train sets - Lumberjack - with the side tank 0-4-0 tank locomotives.
These were all unopened despite being maybe 20 years old.
I have found that the motors run OK on each locomotive - 3 in all - but they all have the main drive gear which is fitted to the rear axle split. These are white plastic gears push fitted to splines on the axles. The gears cannot be repaired and I doubt if spares are still available. Anyone got a bright idea to bring these old timers back into working order?

Thank you - Alexander Taylor Scottish Garden Railway, Scotland, UK

Track sounds good. Looking forward to getting it here in the UK. Any word of bigger curves and switches?
For Narrow minded. Rail clamps are a very good idea. Some people I know have replaced all their joiners with these. Best I have found are by a German electronics company who make DCC equipment - Sandy - Scottish Garden Railways

Large / 3 truck Shay with sound
November 18, 2009, 02:52:25 PM
Can anyone tell me if all (or any ) of the DCC and sound 3 truck Shays listed in the UK (82697/8/9)  come with a choice of smoke stack and fuel load in the box? If not are these parts available as spares? Finally does the sound system match the fuel. For example the oil version would not be right with coal shoveling sound?

Thank you
