General Discussion / TheGreat Circus Train
January 09, 2013, 08:59:07 PM
Hey all;
I have the Great Circus Train from when it origonaly was released (many many years ago) but I never got any of the accessory wagons or anything from it.  For Christmas, I got a box of 37 of them someone was selling on Ebay. Now I want more.  Does anyone know if there is a comprehensive list of what was produced, so I can go about picking them off?

Thanx

HO / F40 DCC Ready Boards
April 17, 2012, 11:00:24 PM
I have an F40 Chasis from a DCC ready unit that did NOT have the flashing strobe lights. I'm looking at the board, and there are places to put resistors and two more lights. Is there a way to adapt these for ditch lights that can alternate at crossings? Or should I consider replacing the board with a different decoder? I have an old life like shell for MBTA that I want to put on it, and light it all up. Any advice, or even a wiring schematic, would be helpful.

Thank You!

thank you, but I am freelancing my own railroad, and was looking for an easier way of working with my art than printing it out on paper and seeing if it fits

Does anybody know if anyone puts out a program with templates of different cars and locomotives to help design a layout for ink jet decals?

I'm not sure about just the letters, but to strip the factory paint down to bare plastic and start over again, soak the shell in DOT 3 brake fluid for about twelve ours, then wipe it off with a paper towel, some hot water, and dawn dish detergent.

General Discussion / MBTA Commuter trains
March 16, 2011, 11:30:55 PM
I spend most of my travel into Boston on the Downeaster into North Station.  Last summer, we actually took a trip on Amtrak's lakeshore limited from Boston's South Station to Chicago. I noticed coming out of South station there were several double level commuter cars for the MBTA.  I am planning on decorating a set of Bachmann Silver Double Decker commuter cars in the MBTA colors, but I am having trouble locating any photo's showing the head end power of these trains.

Can someone please tell me, which locomotives does the MBTA use to pull their double decker commuter cars from South station?

Thank You

An easy way to tell if the Bachmann F40's are DCC ready, is to flip them over and look at the fuel tank. If its screwed on, its DC only....however, if its clipped on, its most likely DCC ready.

Does anybody know who may sell HO scale AMtrak Decals in the so-called Phase 5?  I am looking for both locomotive decor, and logo's for passsenger equipment.
Thanx

Atlas is coming out with a GP-40 W model in two different versions.  Do you know if they are the same as what MARC is using?

Thanx
