Hi Jack, I don't have an answer for you but I have an athearn loco with sound and the function buttons do not work at all with this loco yet a proto loco works fine so will be very ineterested to hear what happens with your problem.

I have a athearn genesis loco with sound that works perfectly on an E-Z command controller but when used with a dynamis controller loco runs o.k. and I get the diesel rumble but nothing using the function buttons i.e: horn bell etc. Yet when a proto 2000 loco with sound is used with the dynamis it works perfectly. How do I get the genesis loco to work with the function buttons? I beleive it has a mrc decoder factory fitted. I am relatively new to dcc, guess it shows.
