Thomas & Friends / Re: HO Winston for 2016/2017

Bear in mind UK RRP for the Wickham Trolley is about £75-£80, so in US dollars, a Winston would probably be close to the price of Skarloey.

If they did, he would likely be very expensive.

Having been at the premiere on Sunday, I can honestly say you are all in for a treat when this film. It is by far the best one yet, and there are plenty of nods and cameos that you will all go wild over.

Sometimes people need a prod ;)

I just hope they don't do one engine per year; I'd be fine with a break from the standard gauge to allow this to develop further and quicker. To wait 6-7 years for the core characters would be torture! But that's long term. I'm elated that it'sactuly being done at all!

So, we are getting Narrow Gauge this year after all. After so many years, an with the OO9 market starting to be recognised (especially here in the UK), it doesn't come as a surprise.

However, there is most likely a catch.

It is CRUCIAL that these products sell. Releasing just one engine will stump sales slightly I imagine. Parents of young children will be unlikely to buy the a whole new scale of track and stock for just one engine. If Skarloey and the rolling stock do not sell, the range may not expand to include all or any of the others, which would be a crying shame.

Therefore, I urge you all to buy these when they are released. We've said for years we wanted them, now lets show Bachmann how much we meant it!

Best bet is to replace it under warranty if there is one; this sort of issue is usually down to electrical faults.
I had an Edward that did same - there's a small circuit boar inside that controls direction of travel I think and the diodes on them had burnt right out! If it's not those then it's the brushes o the motor itself, so either way not an easy fix.

Whilst I agree with most points raised here; if it were to happen, I think we'd get Skarloey & Rheneas in the first year, followed by Rusty. Those three seem to be the "headliners" for the series these days. After that, who knows?

I think many would love to obtain such models, an d that the the selling point is grossly underestimated! They, in OO9, would be to scale. People may have to buy new track work but for those like
Me its a worthwhile expense for the sale of he collection and building a layout. It opens whole new scenic opportunities too....

I don't see many G scale layouts, so to even see a Thomas one is great! Maybe this will pave the way for more in years to come?
Looks like a lot of fun!

With Duncan, Oliver, Toad and Donald & Douglas returning this series, I dare say anyone else will be next series.

What are people's thoughts on the image of Duncan (from what they can see.)

There is a picture of CGI Duncan about somewhere - was in a magazine so not great quality.

EDIT: Found it!

Thomas & Friends / Re: Troublesome Trucks Thread

Looks CGI to me; to large to be the face of the truck in the image above.

I must confess I too was hoping for a van (preferably the Salt Van) and the choice of wagon is a bit odd I feel. It has the CGI Promo face (which I think we were all expecting), but doesn't look right on a truck that low. However, it's another wagon with a face, and for those that missed the wagon in its previous guise, it's another chance to obtain; it can always be repainted.

Arry and Bert are another 'as expected' . We all knew really they would gain CGI faces as indeed they have. It may just be me but does anyone else think Arry has just a little too much stubble?
Nevertheless, they both look great and I shall certainly be adding them to my collection when released.

The water tower is a nice last-minute addition to the range and I'm glad they're adding it - with the station and other buildings announced this year I think it's a nice accompaniment and would do well in a yard or around the sheds.

I think my sarcastic point was missed here........
