Williams by Bachmann / Re: New Williams Locos Wanted
January 27, 2014, 08:45:37 PM
Well I think that all Wbb engines both Diesel and Steam alike are all good. I am currently in the works to purchase the J Class 4-8-4 PRR Northern Steam engine and I think that it would be nice to see more streamlined engines of different road names added to the roster of steam engines. It wouldn't hurt to if they came equipped with the new True Blast Plus. I figure as long as you don't need to worry about replacing those batteries as is with the MTH Proto 2 there is nothing wrong with Bachmann updating the Williams True Blast 2 sound system. If they keep it as simple as that and not get to fancy with the electronics they should be fine. After all with all these electronic stuff in the more modern engines if something shorts out you are looking at a hefty bill of repair.

Anyone know if you can replace the seuthe smoke generator for a fan driven smoke unit, and if so what type of fan driven unit can you use. I am specifically interested in switching out the seuthe in the J Class 4-8-4 engine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Does anyone know an exact date as to when Williams by Bachman will be producing the Southern Pacific GS4 again. Also does anyone know why that particular item has been so hard to find? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Bach Man,
I was at my local hobby shop, and inquired about the Williams by Bachman SP GS4's availability. I was told that it is not currently available. I was just wondering is this something permanent or will my hobby shop be able to get it back in after a specific date. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Hey Bluerose Lady,
There is nothing wrong with my MTH GS4, other than it is Loco Sound, and not PS2.0. I was unable to get it in PS2.0 at the time;but i really wanted the set, so i went with it. It's an awesome smoker; but i want something alittle better, and in my mind Williams by Bachman's GS4 is exactly what i am looking for in an engine, and as i have said in other posts that for me it is right in my price range.
Yes i am a Southern Pacific fan. I would love to have been able to take a ride on the Daylight back in the hayday of train travel. So i guess this my way of getting that ride by have this set as my main passenger train on my layout. Well hope to talk to you soon!!

Hi BlueRose Lady,
I currently have the MTH SP Daylight set. I am thinking of replacing the MTH engine with the Williams GS4. I think that the color scheme is pretty close. If Williams ever does make a matching passenger car set i would consider looking into it; but i think for know this is going to look great. Thanks for the reply! Hope to talk to you again soon!

Hello All,
I would have to say that my favorite, although i don't have one as of yet would be the Southern Pacific GS4
Daylight. In my opinion this is the best representation of a Northern type steam engine that has ever been built. It's color scheme, sleek look, and just all out right beauty makes this my number one pick!!
