Your best bet would be checking a swap meet for box's of spare parts, their quite common. Barring that you can make a jig and form them out of brass wire soldering as needed.

I'm assuming that the frogs on these turnouts are not powered,if so in there lies your problem.

Also make sure the plug between the engine and tender is fully seated.

And let's not forget the proliferation of the Union Pacific Big Boys, produced by AHM,Bowser,BLI,and MTH. TO SAY nothing of the Brass models made!😂

I have the EM1 with the factory sound module installed,I I were you I would go with the Tsunami sound decoder with a hi bass speaker. You would then have a full Tsunami with all options and the correct whistle ( hooter) .or as close as you'll get!

masking and painting really isn't that difficult,. heres my new Bachmann EM1 that I like you felt the oxide red roof and tender deck would make for a better looking model.
Took aut an hour including masking.i will admit to using my preferred method of using an air brush for better control.still note the OOPS on the trailing truck, since rectified lol

Why not just paint it?

Some masking tape and Oxide red paint all it takes!

Think you'll find both the Bachmann articulateds to be fine running locomotives, might not have quite the tractive effort of the others but not far off. For the difference in price you can have 2 of the 2-6-6-2s lol
If I have to nit pick the sound module for the EM1 does not have the correct whistle that the full Tsunami sound decoder comes with.

take the engine to a local hardware store and check in the O-ring section to see if you can find a rubber o-ring to fit the wheel

Keep in mind that the profile of a traction tire is flat where as on a standard O ring their round.....

Yea, the History Channel is horrible now. Its the Pawn Stars channel now. What ever happened to Trains Unlimited ?

And way too many of these stupid "pickers' shows, shooting crocs shows (just cruelty) etc., etc..

speaking of picker shows saw one where now their running around people's yards with a metal detector and a garden shovel digging up treasures.......ahhhh jeeeeez!😂

Stay with the NS,no worry of rust as you would have with steel rail plus it's easier to work with.

alright here are a few pictures I took while replacing the coal load with a scratch built oil bunker on my Santa Fe 2-6-0 sound value locomotive.

using a scale rule formed a bunker

heres the tender with coal load removed, just pops off

fitting before painting

found a piece in my junk box for a oil filler and painted....easy peasey
Also had redone the lettering to a more correct Santa Fe look.

Think you'll find replacing the coal load on the 2-6-0 to be a very simple job .
The coal load simply pops off and making a oil bunker from styrene is a snap,I did mine in an afternoon.
Soon as I get into my computer I'll post some pictures😃

Did in fact notice you had painted the inside of the cab, care to elaborate? This is an important point for me when painting engines were you able to use your air brush or did you have to brush paint it.
Never had t he luck to have an engine with a removable cab roof. Lol

HO / Re: 4-6-0 tender derailing. Help?

Also Bachmann tenders are notorious for needing a oz.or 2 of weight near the front.
