Bachmann
The K4 and Berk are stunning models. But, already, I'm thinking, no more sound, from you. The idea that I need to cycle through every Bmann loco, on the tracks and silence them, because I interrupted power is preposterous. Save the money, leaveus a nice set of pins to put in sound, with an off switch. It's worth the extra investment.
Great steam. Really a bummer of a decision, since even the cheaper brand sound decoders have this feature.

 :(B man.
I just opened up 44847. The minimum voltage on the variable output is 6.67 VDC. Is my controller defective, or is it a design flaw/limitation? It takes your trolley 61085 (the one depicted on the box), directly to ludicrous speed. The trolley runs great at 2-3 VDC. If it is truly the min voltage, I'll be sadly returning the set.

Please advise.

Thanks
Marty

Bachmann,
Hi. Does the direction reverse when the whole train leaves the auto reversing track, or when the first metal wheels leave, or..?
Does it need any minimum voltage? Hoping I can have the trolley, or train creep along. This are my remaining question, before buying.

N / Anyone using the auto reversing track?
April 04, 2017, 12:13:34 AM
My Bachmann Trolleys and streetcars run so well, this intrigues me. I know there are sensors and such, you can use with any track, but this seems simple. I like simple. Can anyone using it, tell me about it?

I know the Yuletide Special, with the very old power pack is not. But, if the set had the latest square controller , with a wall wart, would that indicate a split frame vintage? I know it's a hard question.
Thanks

N / Are these shells interchangeable?
March 28, 2017, 03:38:09 PM
I bought a train set 0-6-0, with Christmas paint scheme. If I buy a USRA short tender, are the shells a direct swap? I know I have some adaptations, to connect the tender.

Folks,
All I can find, on the website is " including a new advanced Bachmann/Lenz DCC decoder with back EMF,"

JMRI calls it a "manufacturer 101 version 81 no such decoder defined"

I get this ambiguity on all Bmann decoders (Except the Berk Tsunami)

If I get this figured out, I might even want to figure out how to contribute to JMRI and define the decoders there... But today, I'm just stuck on.... What is it?

Thanks

Folks,
This is a great looker right down to the yellowed lighting and the bell, that leaps out. I'm breaking it in, using D.C. And 16 3/8 super elevated Unitrack. Will extended break in quiet this thing, or is it "destined to sit on the shelf, until I have wider curves"?

Folks
I'm looking for a replacement wire, that goes from the PS to they track. I can't seem to find a part number. Anyone? Thanks!

N / How about taking a shot at good 0-4-0 steamers?
March 13, 2017, 05:51:24 PM
Hey Bmann,
With all the great units, right down to the latest 0-6-0, it's time for a great 0-4-0. Please consider this.

Has any Christmas N set been released, with  the new 0-6-0 (knuckle coupler and more importantly, the hidden motor)? If so, can i find it anywhere?

N / 0-6-0 Catalog number question, for the Bachmann
February 21, 2017, 08:56:00 PM
Hi
If a vendor shows as having an N scale USRA 0-6-0 New Jersey Central # 106 catalog number 50565, can I be certain it is a 2015 release, with a hidden motor and knuckle couplers? It is my favorite etailer and she "doesn't know". Is there something, on the package I can direct her to?

N / Pere Marquette Berk won't move
March 13, 2016, 07:45:42 PM
Won't mind sending it in. I should have tested it new. I know from a thread on TB, I ordered it last March 6. I left it in the ox, hoping I would get DCC set up. Sadly, a year later DCC still disassembled.

To the point. I put it on a loop. Sound comes on. but it won't move.... Bummed. please help.
Thanks

N / Why Bachmann service is second to none
January 19, 2015, 08:42:23 PM
I won't mention the thread, but around 8:30 AM a forumite posts a question. At 2PM, before anyone can say "Gee, I haven't seen that. Since your set is new, Bachmann will help you", Yardmaster posted a solution. That is truly standing behind the products>

N / 0-6-0 DCC spectrum grade request
October 25, 2014, 09:11:06 PM
Any shot, thats on the list of upcoming locos?

Greetings
First, hey Bach Man. I love this new loco. I'd like to add it to my JMRI roster, but the decoder shows up as not listed. Also, I can't an instruction sheet for the decoder. Can anyone help me with the decoder instruction sheet. Also, if anyone has the xml for JMRI, it would be a BONUS.

Thanks

Short question. Is CV5 (max voltage) available? If not (newbie hope), can it be "hacked" with something like decoder pro?

The longer story Being new to DCC. I've had it a few weeks, but it is slow going, with the whole "need to do the other things in life" deal.  I just got to really play some tonight, after the Ranger game. I've been setting up my DCC ready locos, installing a few decoders and playing with some track plans. I'd read earlier today that CV5 wasn't available on the preinstalled decoders. I thought naaahhh, that's SUCH a cool feature... NAAAAHHHHHH. Fast forward to tonight. I'm running a 2--6-6-2. The longer it runs, the better it runs!!. I tried my first on main programming. I want to lower top speed, because i don't think a steamer should run that fast in N. I also figure this will give me more subtle speed control. I don't think it works . I tried 192, 124 and 62. No top speed change. If it isn't a newb error, it's, IMO, an  unfortunate ommission.
Thanks
