On30 / From a Forney to a Mason Bogie?
May 14, 2012, 06:54:06 AM
Hi guys

I was wondering if anyone ever tried to an "optical" Mason Bogie from a Bachmann On30 Forney. I'm aware of the constructional differences between them. Nevertheless I'm wondering if it is possible to cosmetically modify the Forney so that it looks (from a distance and with -5.0 dioptries) like a Mason Bogie.....

Hi

does anyone know what happened with the Xeodon line of products (domes, pilots, etc) after they quit their business? Does someone else offer them now? They were great products and it would be nice if they were available again.

On30 / Wenz Modellbau Turnout Kits
May 16, 2008, 09:13:12 AM
Hi All

Does anyone have experiences with the turnout kits from Wenz Modellbau from Germany? They sell great-looking american style On30 turnout kits - both "normal" turnouts as well as stub switches.

For more info, see: http://wenz-modellbau.eshop.t-online.de/epages/Store.sf/?ObjectPath=/Shops/Shop00671/Categories/0n30

On30 / Double sound?
January 10, 2008, 10:15:08 AM
A question not specifically asked for On30...

Is it possible (from simple --> difficult) to have a sound decoder in the steam locomotive and a second (identical) sound decoder stationary located under the layou for the low frequencies?

Any synchronisation issues here?

Thanks for your help! Richard

On30 / Filling Water Tanks
December 12, 2007, 07:35:08 AM
I'm modelling Louisiana in the 1880's in On30- I do realise that my question, however, is not limited to this scale.

Does anyone know how water tanks were filled in this era and in a country as flat as LA? Electricity for powering a water pump, although known, was still future so the only way I can think of is a steam powered pump. This, however, must have been very cumbersome to operate so maybe someone must have been assigned to operate it? How was the water purified in those years?

Your help is appreciated, Richard, Austria

On30 / Boulder Valley
June 27, 2007, 09:37:14 AM
I noticed that the Boulder Valley Models web page was not update as of december 2006.
When I checked it today, the website was completely gone.
Does anyone know what happened with BVM?

(sorry to ask something about a different model railroad company. I don't see them as a competitor of Bachmann, however.)
