HO / Bachmann EZ-Track.
October 26, 2014, 10:14:58 AM
I have a need for two EZ Track crossovers for a layout I am building.  I need a 90 degree crossing and a 30 degree crossing but I have not seen any listed.  Does anyone have a source for this type of EZ Track?
I have the crossovers in Atlas Code 83 track, but do not have an adapter to use with my EZ Track.

For all the replies, Thanks.  I finally found the EZ Track that I needed in the Bachmann store.  Guess I can charge it to a senior moment.  Forgot the store even existed.

General Discussion / Looking for parts
October 27, 2008, 02:07:57 PM
???I am now ready to install my street lights and various building lights on my first layout.  I need a source for bare solid hookup wire and terminal blocks.  Hope someone can point me to a vendor.  I tried RadioShack with no luck. Any place will do but I live in East Texas.

General Discussion / Modify B-Units
September 28, 2008, 08:25:44 PM
I have two Bachmann F-Bunits that I would like to convert from power to dummy status.  My power unit is not strong enough to handle the four powered units ABBA.  Is there a way to do this?

HO / Engine hangs
September 04, 2007, 02:37:31 PM
???I have a Bachmann FT-7A with DCC on board.  I have finished laying my track on my layout (Bachmann EZ-Track) but when I try to run the engine to test the track, it hangs up on the track.  It is almost as though the wheels are too small and let the plastic shell drag.  I have checked and double checked all of the joints to make sure that none of the rails are out of the joiners and stick up higher than they should.  Running two fingers along the track does not produce any bumps or rough spots; it is smooth all the way around.  Is there a away to adjust the height of the shell on the chassis to prevent this.?

HO / Track Problem....
July 05, 2007, 04:31:24 PM
I'm in the process of putting togeter my first layout but I have run into a small problem.  I have the track (Bachmann EZ-Trak) but there are about 3 or 4 sections that just will not go together.  I have made sure that the ends are correctly lined up before I try to snap them together but for some reason, the rail ends are binding on the small joiners.  I was wondering if I could take some needle nose pliers and remove the joiners and then reinstall them or would that render them useless?  Anybody got an idea on how to fix this?

General Discussion / Painting styrofoam
June 29, 2007, 09:17:45 PM
On a scenery kit, I am told to paint the styrofoam base an earthtone color, but the instructions fail to say what kind of paint.

I am new at scenery so I could use some advice.  I would hate to put the wrong stuff on and melt the foam base.

Thanks,

General Discussion / rail insulators
April 05, 2007, 10:24:08 PM
I have a question for The Bachmann, but will accept help from anyone.  How  are Bachmann EZ Track sections configured so you can have insulated blocks and turn outs.  Can any manufacturer's plastic insulators be used on EZ Track?

HO / Track Insulators
April 05, 2007, 07:45:17 PM
Before someone tells me to look in the catalog....been there; done that ;D

I would like to know if Bachmann makes the little plastic rail insulators used for creating traffic blocks, etc.  I am using exclusively the Bachmann EZ Track system; also, are the insulators made by other mfgrs compatible with EZ Track.  Thanks,

HO / Tortise Switch
March 27, 2007, 10:17:12 PM
I just read an article in the current issue of Model Railroad magazine about a 'Tortise Switch' manufactured by Circuitron.  Can someone please tell me what this switch is used for.  It is described as a 'slow motion' switch.  I doubt if I will need one but I am curious as to what it does.

On30 / For Bach Man
March 01, 2007, 09:51:37 AM
Mr. Bach Man.  I have a question....maybe two.  I have a Bachmann engine that is a part of the John Wayne Express collection by Hawthorne.  It did not come with any documentation so I don't know if it is DCC ready or not. Is there a way to determine this?  Also, if not, how do I install a DCC receiver? Figured I had better post a picture so you will have an idea of which engine I am talking about.  Also, can you recommend a decoder if needed?  Jesse

General Discussion / Nostalgia
February 19, 2007, 10:38:10 AM
After looking over some of the layouts and scenery....I noticed something is missing.  Back when I was a kid in the 20s and 30s, my grandmother ran a large boarding house in Tulsa.  Most of her boarders were railroad men who worked for Frisco.  We had Firemen, Brakemen, Engineers and Conductors.  One of our boarders was an engineer from Rolla, Missouri named Carl Bradford.  Brad for short.  When school was out during the summer, I would ride with Brad up in the cab of his engine.  I was in hog heaven.  Brad handled mostly freights but once in awhile he would fill in on a passenger run.  In those days, most of the U.S. Mail went by train, and all of the consists had a U.S. Post Office Car.  One of our next door neighbors, Jerry Barton worked for the post office in the mail cars. At home, he had a large box built into his wall of one room and it was nothing  but pigeon holes.  He would practice sorting 'mail' into those things for hours.  He told me it was to build up his speed because the mail had to be ready for drop off at the towns they went thru.  The thing that I notice missing was the pole and arm that was mounted just off the station platform that held the mail sacks.  On some runs, the train did not stop at the town so all the mail was snatched by a arm and hook as the train went thru.  I just wondered if anyone had seen scale models of these things or if they are even available.  BTW, I'm still just an 84 year old kid at heart

HO / A Burning Question from a Newbie
February 18, 2007, 10:19:26 AM
I bought five Budd Passenger Cars for the Santa Fe Chief on EBay.  All the cars were made by Model Power.  They all have horn and hook couplers. I would like to know if anyone has had any experience with these cars and what Kadee knuckle coupler was used to replace the old H&H?

If I were a betting man, I'd say the fellow that owns this house is a retired railroad man.....or maybe works for Bachmann ???

HO / Old Tyco (Life Like) Santa Fe F7A
February 02, 2007, 02:15:23 PM
I recently acquired two Santa Fe Super Chief engines from EBay.  They both have the old horn and hook couplers.  I have received new #37 for the pilot coupler and #35 for the rear coupler from Kadee.  I have removed the pilot coupler from the engines, but I am not certain how to remove the rear coupler which is a truck mounted coupler.  I hope someone on the forum has some experience in this as I am a three week old newbie in model railroading.
