N / N & W passenger cars - preliminary photos
August 17, 2007, 12:01:22 PM
Well, here are the five cars I have painted so far. Decided to get the Kato observation. Have cleared one of the cars, been too humid around here to do the rest. Painted the stripes, but I think the bottom stripes came out too thick. The upper stripe on the baggage was freehanded which is why it is uneven in places. Figure I will repaint if and when more accurate markings for these come out. Besides, the paint I mixed for the red has set up. I have the worst time trying to save paint once I mix it. Let me know what you think. Sully

N / got my cars today

Well, got the passenger cars today. Very pleased with them. Think that they may not be the scale size of the Norfolk & Western cars, but they will work for me. Couple of things I may alter, like take the skirts off the sides, and would like to make the windows on the observation car smaller. Will post pics when I am done with them. Oh yeah, got a BL-2 last week that is getting ready to go to the paint shop. Had the markings for it left on the sheet for the F unit (Chesapeake & Ohio), so I thought I would do up one of these. N / N & W passenger cars
July 10, 2007, 09:03:35 AM
Well, I finally bought a set of Con-Cor heavyweights. These seem to be about the closest I could find to the Pocahontas / Powhattan Arrow cars. Will have to measure them when they arrive, but don't really care about the length anymore. Spending 6 months looking for these things has made my head spin. Have 2 sets of the Micro Scale N&W decal sets, so I will be repainting and marking them. Just don't have the the Pocahontas / Powhattan Arrow markings. Will post some pics of them when done, especially behind my Spectrum J-Class. And if Bachmann ever does a set of cars for this loco, will consider those as well. Sully

N / my first 2 tone paint job
May 16, 2007, 12:08:48 AM
This is my first 2 tone repaint. Accuflex paint with Microscale decals. Old Trix Santa Fe warbonnet. Removed molded in grab handles on front, redid 2 with wire, added 2. Not perfect, but I kinda like it. Thanks for looking. Sully

Hello all from the new guy here. Just got my 611 dad ordered me for Christmas, and it is beautiful. Ran it a little on my test loop, but curves are just too small. Gonna add a loop with bigger turns to my table, maybe tomorrow. Was wondering about a source for passenger cars for this engine. Been trying to find the info, but am not doing a good job. Found this site and was hoping to get some help. Thanks in advance, and hopefully can pitch in where I can. Sully
