On30 / Parts Department
July 22, 2008, 10:19:57 AM
Mr. Bach Man,

I was on the telephone with your parts department yesterday looking for a tender.  They had a 2-6-0 tender lettered for OR & W that I could have used.  They told me it was $40.00!!!  Doesn't that seem a little high for a scrapped/returned tender??  Also, some time ago I purchased 3 identical small items which were priced @ $7.00 each plus $5 S&H.  Yesterday I ordered the same thing (6) and they were $4.50 + $5 S&H.  Soooo, I either overpaid the first time or you undercharged me the 2nd.  What's that all about??

Lastly, I was looking for the lens hood on a round electric headlight like on the 2-8-0 (part # MTZ 18) and was told that was not a separate item.  Well it must be because I lost on off another 2-8-0!!  Could you see what you could do to find me one?  Thanks for your help,

Peter

On30 / Soundbugs
March 07, 2008, 02:07:40 PM
Mr. B.

I waded through the archives but came up blank.  What make is the decoder in a non-sound 2-8-0?  Can it be used with a Digitrax "Soundbug"?

Thank you,

Peter

General Discussion / O scale 2 rail Track
December 11, 2007, 02:34:47 PM
I want to add a short standard gauge line to my On30 layout for Interchange purposes.  I am curious how small a rail height the RTR (2-rail) equipment say from Atlas will handle?  My On30 is happy on code 70 but I'm guessing that is too small for standard gauge O scale cars. I'm thinking of a small section of dual-gauge track so the largest I could go would be code 100.  Any ideas out there??  As its going to be quite short, I am not averse to handlaying it.

Thanks

On30 / Davenport Question
October 17, 2007, 08:45:53 AM
I have an early Davenport and a new one with DCC "on board".  Last night I found the schematic for the old one and discovered there is a circuit board on top of the motor w/o a decoder hooked up like in the schematic for the new one.  Question: does this mean the early one is DCC ready, just awaiting a decoder?

On30 / Paint Colors
September 25, 2007, 01:35:35 PM
Mr Bach Man or anyone else that might know:

I want to match the color green on a Greenbriar Davenport.  Is it any standard color available from a paint manufacturer?

Thanks,

Peter

General Discussion / DCC Question
September 20, 2007, 11:20:33 AM
I have a question about DCC.  I have 3 On30 locomotives that are DCC equipped and also run on straight DC w/o any changes.  I have 3 small non DCC locomtives that I don't want to convert at this time.  I plan to run these in a small isolated are of my layout while running the DCC eqipped locomotive over the rest of the layout.  My question is this:
As all my engine servicing will be in the straight DC area, can I transition (run it w/o doing anything) the DCC/DC units to the straight DC engine facility?

Thank you.

Peter
