On30 / Colorado & Southern
May 10, 2015, 07:26:53 AM
Hey Bachmann folks,

how about your early dedication to the C&S? I do have the two Moguls you had made to a Colorado & Southern prototype
and it all began this way. A C&S passenger train set plus some freight cars, this all cries to add some motive power such
as a C&S No. 71 engine, a No. 75 or 76 or even a model of the little No.9 one can find today in Breckenridge, CO.

The 71 would be one of my favorites, you just need to go there to Central City, CO and take your measurements,
she sits there just for you. And for us Colorado NArrow Gauge bums going there, dreaming t have a model of it one far day...

How about adding something like that?

Cheers, Tom ;) ;) ;)

June 16, 2012, 01:17:36 AM
Hello there folks,

Bach-man: Can you give us a release date for the new Heisler locomotives yet?
I thought they may already be on the return trip, but no word in here yet...

Would be awesome if we could please could have any kind of information
as I´m sure there are masses of folks out there waiting for them to arrive.

Cheers, Katercat ;) ;) ;)

On30 / RGS 74 kitbash
December 12, 2011, 09:57:56 AM
Folks,

when I looked through some older Gazettes, I found a drawing of my favorite, the C&S / RGS No.74.
The 4-6-0´s tender matches the dimensions, but what about the rest...? I could see to use a HO 2-8-0 from Bachmann´s range for the running gear, some halfway fitting domes from PSC, but...

Anyone tried this before?  ??? ??? ???
Any recommendations...?   ???

Cheers, Tom ;) ;) ;)

October 24, 2011, 06:04:41 AM
Dear Bach-man,

when will we be able to see how the various versions of the coming Heisler locomotive will be looking like?
I haven´t pre-ordered my ones yet as I´d like to see first what comes in that green box... =)

Would be awesome if you please could post a estimated date for photos...
Thank you so much,

kind regards! A happy On30 Logger...

Williams by Bachmann / 2-rail DC and DCC
February 15, 2011, 04:22:43 PM
Hey Bachmann/Williams folks!

Ages ago, Williams did make wonderful 2-Rail models, steamers - a dream.
Beeing a 2-Railer, I would like to see Williams by Bachmann re-enter the 2-Rail market,
as this is growing permanently. I just had a good friend reconstruct my 3-rail D&RGW Alco PA into a 2-rail model. Bachmann - you can do this by yourself.

Please get us affordable, well detailed, good running 2-rail models and I´m sure you will be able to do the magich influence you had in the On30 market again in O-Scale 2-rail.

Why not...?

Please make my day, folks...! :) :) :)

Hi there folks,

would please someone so kind and check the wheel diameters and the axle width for me on a ´72 Williams Streamliner (wouldn´t care which type, they should all have the same data) ?

The reason I´m asking is, that I just bought a set, but as I´m running 2-Rail trains, I´will need to convert them to 2-Rail axles. To order them, I would need the dimensions... Don´t have them here, but as they need to cross the Atlantic first, I would really appreciate your help, folks!

Thank you so much.
Kind regards, Tom ;) ;) ;)

Williams by Bachmann / 2-Rail Conversion Alco PA ?
December 11, 2010, 03:50:38 AM
Hi there folks,

..as I´m considering a 3-Rail to 2-Rail conversion: Is there somebody who has done that before - converting a Alco PA-1 to 2-Rail? I would need to know what diameter the axles have to get a set of NSWL wheel disks...

Any comments? Any hints?
Would be awesome!!! :) :) :)

Kind regards, Tom ;)

A little bird whispered to me that there would be a good chance to see Colorado&Southern/Rio Grande Southern No.74 to be produced by Bachmann...?

I´m sure the Bach-man won´t let this out of the hat actually, but wouldn´t this
be a cool thing to have...? OK-Colorado N.G. but this would make my day... ;) ;) ;)

Bach-man: Any comments yet about this? When will we know more about the coming models...? (Probably something geared for us Loggers... NO, I´m not saying the H-word..)

Cheers, Tom ;) ;) ;)

Hi there all!

As I do know that the both Saddle Tankers have run out already, are there any people out there which may have seen one of them at a local shop/internet shop recently?

Preferably, I was looking for the Ely Thomas Lumber version, but one of the two (Ely Thomas Lumber or West Side Lumber) would be a great thing to have. :) :) :)

Any comments would be very much appreciated...!
Thank you all folks!

Cheers, Tom :)

On30 / 2-6-6-2 Stacks and Stripes...
October 20, 2009, 05:18:51 AM
Hi there Bach-man !

Just returning from a New England vacation, I have discovered that there are some pictures already in your system showing the new 2-6-6-2 and their variants/roadnames.

::)I still do have two questions about these engines, though: ???

-Will they come with exchangeable stacks, well knowing you, I´d say (and hope) YES ?
-Will the two Logging variants (Pocahontas and Greenbrier) come with white striping,
red windows or something like that or will they come plain black with red windows?

Would be fine if you could lift the secret about these two models, I know there may others out arround the Narrow Gauge Circle which may have asked themselves the same questions...?

Thanks, Tom :) :) :)

On30 / Sandy River & Rangeley Lake Caboose !
July 19, 2009, 04:19:18 AM
Hi all !

Not mentioned yet, but I don´t want this nice model to go uncommented: Isn´t it great that Bachmann did choose a SR&RL Caboose to go along with the pretty Forneys?
I do think it very wise to start (...?) a Maine 2-footers product line.

Hopefully this will mark a start which leads us to some more models...

Cheers, Tom

On30 / Increasing prices?
April 08, 2009, 01:48:12 PM
Bach-man,

rumours here in Europe spoke of a coming price increase of approx. 25% for all Bachmann products. Is there anything true about this or is this just - rumour...?
(What I desparately hope)

Would be great if you could let us know - sure all those friends out there will be interested to hear about this. No question - your products are worth their price,
really more than just this...

Thank you so much.
Cheers, Tom :) :) :)

On30 / Tenwheeler - Steam Domes&Cabs: which versions...?
February 15, 2009, 06:15:21 AM
Dear Bach-man:

Wouldn´t it be time to get some actual photos in here - depicting what versions of the Tenwheelers will be available?

We do know, though, that there will be Tweetsie versions, but: Will a undecorated wood cab version come with straight domes or fluted domes or will they have excangeable domes (which would be a great thing to have...) - I´m asking since I´m thinking about making a On30 RGS-lookalike Kitbash....

Even more - will the smokebox have the option to shorten it - as the Connies and the Americans have...? Looks like that, when I remind me of the photos we saw a while ago.

I´m sure there are a lot of folks arround who may be interested what will become available soon as I hope...

Thank you so much.
Kind regards,
Tom :) :)

Williams by Bachmann / 2-Rail Oscale
December 29, 2008, 04:58:30 AM
Hi there !!

Wouldn´t it be wise to start a 2-Rail Scale segment within the Williams range?
They once did and the Williams UP Challenger and their SP Cab forward were
pretty good models, solid as a rock and good looking...

Since I´m a 2-Rail Oscaler and On30 Narrow (minded...?) Gauger, I would love to see 2-Rail models coming from Bachmann. Bach-man: You folks can do this! The O-scale marked is not overcrowded since there are more or less just Weaver and Atlas who cover the production in bigger numbers...

That would make my day: Have a Bachmann-produced O-Scale engine... ;) ;) ;)

Cheers, Tom :)

On30 / Stacks !!!
July 19, 2008, 06:33:29 AM
Hi Bach-man !

Since all those nice Stacks come again and again atop your little Beauties in On30,
why not making them available separate for kitbashing? For example, I once planted a Onion Stack on a Climax, which really looks terrific! ;D ;D ;D

Is there any chance we could buy them separate?
I´m sure a lot of folks out there would join into a cheer when we get a chance to do so...

Hi all,

just discussed this with a friend - wouldn´t it be easy to buy a replacement decoder for the Sandy River Forney to use in the new 4-4-0 American ?

Personally I would think this could be a straightforward job, trusting that Bachmann has already prepared the Tender of the 4-4-0 very well (as usual) for fitting a decoder and speaker. My recommendation for getting good results is using the Speaker Housing from Soundtraxx´s range or by producing a speaker housing by yourself - an old pill box, plasticcard or something like that.

Bachmann: Would it be possible to buy a replacement decoder for a Sound Forney at this moment? Or have we to ask the guys in Durango...?

Would be great if you could let us know - would trust there are lots of folks interested in this idea...?

Thanks to all.
Kind regards, Tom

On30 / D&RGW and RGS Rolling Stock
October 27, 2007, 10:17:31 AM
Hi there!

Following the RGS practice to re-use the old C&S Stock Cars, why don´t you think about adding some more accurate RGS and D&RGW Rolling Stock to your catalogue?

Well, Colorado has been always popular and probably will always be. Yet there are only San Juan on the Market with ready to run models, soon there will be Accucraft - Bachmann please take your chance: We Rio Grande Freaks would get enthusiastic about some "real" DRGW prototypical Rolling Stock...

Kind regards, Tom

Williams by Bachmann / Don 't forget the 2-Railers...
October 26, 2007, 01:36:59 AM
Great News Bachmann!

But please don´t forget about the 2-Railers in O-Scale out there. Over here in Europe, its almost 2-Rail and I have understood that there are lots of Model Railroaders already having switched over to 2-Rail.

Well, Williams did precious 2-Rail versions and I desparately hope that we´ll see some more by Bachmann the coming years. Especially the 2-Rail Market lacks some affordable 2-Rail Steamers and others (Atlas, Weaver) just gets started with that. Weaver has just one after discontinuing their  Light Pacific, Atlas comes out right now with a USRA type.

Please take your chance, Bachmann. You won´t regret it.

Kind regards, Tom

Hi to you On30 Narrow Gaugers all!

Just asked myself, since I run a 2-Rail O-Scale Standard gauge Layout too,
if someone does the needed Turnouts for two gauges O/On30?
Would be great if one of you guys has a recommendation for me...

Thanks, and keep those ol´drivers rolling...

Kind regards, Tom
