Large / 2-6-0 Mogul wiring diagram

Trying to wire a RCS Elite3 in the tender. There is a three black wire connecter and a 2 wire gray connecter. Is one for the motor and one for the lights?

Large / amp draw
December 17, 2008, 09:49:57 AM
I have a Bachmann 2-6-0 Kansas Central #102 Mogul that will be battery powered. I don't expect to have more than 6 oz of battery. I plan on pulling a jackson sharp full baggage car, jackson sharp coach, and caboose. I'll have a  RCS R/C system with P5t sound. The largest grade on my line is around 3%. What is the max amp draw I can expect if I'm also running loco lights?  Comments on MyLargeScale forum suggests around 1 amp.

Large / scale matching

Would the Jackson Sharp Full Baggage Car look right behind a 2-6-0 Mogul? Not sure of the scales. Also, what cabooses would match?

Large / 2-6-0 Mogul ?
December 03, 2008, 09:34:12 PM
Just received my Kansas Central 2-6-0 Mogul in the mail today ;D. The bell was not attached and I can't figure out how to attach it :(. It seems to have a pin hole for a cotter pin, but I can't find one in the box. Probably shouldn't glue. ???

My next purchase will be a RCS Elite 3 with a TX24. Can get that for around $270 which is more than the train itself :o. Have not determined a sound card yet. Pheonix is expensive so considering a Small Scale Railways card. Any suggestions?

Large / 1:20.3 Scale 2-6-0 Mogul dimensions
November 20, 2008, 09:35:26 PM
Does anyone know the physical dimensions of the 1:20.3 Scale 2-6-0 Mogul? In particular the height of the highest point. Just checking to see if my tunnel can accomodate.  Hope the 8" is enough.

Large / Big Hailer Annie vs 2-6 Spectrum Mogul
November 19, 2008, 09:14:32 PM
Debating whether to get a Big Hailer Annie, 2-6 Spectrum Mogul, or 4-4 Spectrum American. I like the looks of all three, but was going with the Big Hauler for the price. I found a 2-6 Spectrum Mogul (BAC 81491) and 4-4 Spectrum American (BAC 81396) for $239 at St. Aubins. Is this right? This seems strange since they list at $850-$900. Right or wrong how much better of a loco are the 2-6 or 4-4 than the Annie? Also, I plan on converting what ever I get to battery. I know the Annie will be relatively easy to convert, but how about the others? Thanks.

Large / RC battery power for Annie Big Hauler
September 30, 2008, 04:47:30 PM
I'm looking for a really simply rc system for an Annie. Not really looking for much more than stop and go. The Crest CRE55492 system looks to be very simple. Will it work? I can get the transmitter/receiver combo for around $180. If not are there any comparable systems that will work? Thanks.

Large / Big Hauler?
December 27, 2007, 04:40:41 PM
I'm not sure how to ask this since this is a Bachmann forum, but I was wondering how the 4-6 Annie Big Haulers compare to the new Aristocraft C-16 2-8-0. I like the looks of the C-16 a little better, but am more loyal to Bachmann. The C-16 is a little more expensive and I'm not sure if this is due to more durable mechanisms or if it has more options included. I wish Bachmann made a C-16.

Does the Big Hauler Annie come with sound out of the box? If so, how does it compare to say Sierra sound? Trying to decide if I want to order one with Sierra sound installed.

Large / Big Hauler Annie ?

I want the ET&WNC Annie, but I like the stack on the Denver & Rio Grande Annie. Is there a way to put the Denver & Rio Grande Stack on a ET&WNC Annie?

Large / Brass track
September 14, 2007, 12:50:13 PM
I only need 3 pieces of 120" diameter curve and 4 pieces of 24" straight code 332 brass track to finish my layout. I currently have USA track. Any suggestions on a place I can buy by the piece other than wholesaletrains.com? The straights are on back order.

Large / Question for Tony or anyone else on RCS.
July 19, 2007, 09:01:55 AM
I'm putting together a simple track layout and working on purchasing one of the Annie 4-6 locos. At most i will be adding 2 passenger cars and a caboose. I will only be running one loco and would like to be able to control speed, lights, and sound. Can you suggest a RCS RX TX combo that suits my simple needs? I like the ~14V ~3.5A battery setup altterrain has since it seems it will provide plenty of power for me. I'm planning on installing the RX on the tender. I just don't think I need the TX24.

Large / Battery powerand rcs?
July 17, 2007, 08:45:33 AM
For those who run battery power and remote control. I have three 3' tunnels in my line. If I switch to battery and remote control will my trains loose signal in the tunnels? I'm new to RC and I'm not sure about RC interference problems and if the RC unit must keep in constant contact with the loco. ??? ;D

Large / Big hauler dimensions?
July 16, 2007, 01:45:18 PM
Does anyone have the specs on the exterior dimensions of the Big Haulers? I plan on getting one in the near future and I wanted to make sure it will fit through one of my tunnels.

Large / Tunnel size
June 28, 2007, 12:40:57 PM
I'm planning a tunnel for my railway. I want to make the tunnel big enough for any trains I may buy in the future. What should the inside dimensions of my tunnel be?

I plan on building a box form out of 2"x12" lumber and placing styrofoam in the box to serve as the tunnel. I also plan on cutting out a brick pattern out of some 1/16" thick acrylic sheet using a laser cutter to create a brick pattern on the outside of both ends. I may use chicken wire to add strength to the concrete.

Large / Big hauler ?
May 23, 2007, 08:31:11 AM
I'm new to garden railroading and I am looking for my first locomotive. I'm considering the Mountaineer set (90048). I am assuming the locomotive in that set is different from the Anniversary Edition 4-6-0 locomotive. What are the differences?

What is the maximum grade I can expect to pull with the Mountaineer starter set if I added a caboose? I'm using Aristocraft track with a 10A 0-20V power supply.

I saw the tractive effort test article at http://www.girr.org/girr/tips/tips4/tractive_effort_tests.html. Is there a newer article out there that compares all the current Bachmann locomotives to each other and other Aristocraft and LGB locomotives? I prefer Bachmann, but I am curious how the different Bachmann's stack up against each other and other manufacturers.

Thanks for any comments.
