On30 / Rerun
October 05, 2009, 10:12:41 AM
The Bach-Man

Please forward a request for an EARLY rerun of the replacement pilot with working coupler for the 2-6-0 and also the separate underframes. Bachmann seriously under estimated the demand for these (not only for their original purpose) and I would hope that a rerun would be in much larger quantities.

HO / Product reference Diagrams
October 02, 2009, 06:17:32 AM

Following the request for disassembly of a diesel, I looked to see if diagram was available for loco in question. Not there but I noticed the following.
There are two items for the Spectrum HO USRA Lt.Mountain 4-8-2.
Clicking on the second actually gives the diagram for the H860X--  series of Diesels.
Perhaps you could pass this on for correction.

On30 / ..........tenders
June 07, 2009, 02:43:45 PM

     Mr. Bach Man,

Why don't Bachmann supply seperate tenders in On30 as they do in HO and N gauges???  Especially the one for the IF 4-4-0 which would be a boon for those of us 'bashing' smaller locos (like the Forney).

On30 / Just curious

Prices seem to be rising almost weekly, so can anyone explain this ?

The IF 4-4-0 is $330 retail, yet the OF 4-4-0, released months later, which is much larger and comes with 3 stacks plus extras is $325 retail.
Perhaps the Chinese manufacturer found a source of cheaper labor.

On30 / Bachmann Shorties

Have been shortening Bach cars for use with small locos on a portable layout with 15"rad.curves.
First to be tried was an unlettered Reefer.

Parts displaced to the right are not used.  On body 8 planks are removed from one side of doors and 7 planks from other side. On the roof the walkway is separated working from one end until a razor saw can be used underneath. First cut on roof is immediately to the rear of the ice hatches at that end.  Portion of roof to remove can be measured using piece from underframe. Walkway can be trimmed and reglued after roof parts are rejoined

    Reassembled      Body length--5.25"

A flat car is shortened by cutting underframe as above and cutting deck to suit.

The standart tank will fit on a shorty flat with the ends of the hold-down straps glued into the stake pockets at each end of flat.

On30 / New On30

Tower Models in the UK have received some of the unlettered version of a new Bachmann On30 Pulpwood Car. Have not seen any mention of these here or elsewhere in the US.
