I have a Acela passenger train set... Although I like the Train set itself there are a few things I am disappointed on & would like some thoughts on how to make the car's better...

#1. Interior lighting is POOR I do not like the inside lighting that came stock with the car's... "every time I have the train running during a session with my friends I am asked if the Passenger Car's even have lighting in them"... Is there better LEDS I can get & where to get them...

#2. how can I obtain better Passenger Car dia-frames for in between the Car's The Factory dia-frames do not look realistic to me & have gap's where can I get better one's... I seen on Trainworld.com Dia-frames are offered but I don't know witch car's I have they have listed Bud cars / Pullman 85 CMF what type is the Acela Car's....
Thanks for any help in this matter..... TMB

HO / Rolling Stock question...
January 02, 2015, 08:50:22 AM
Happy New Year Everyone.... I have a Few General Question's maybe get some of other forum's members thought's....

For Christmas I got some Bachmann Sliver Series single dome tank Car's & Box Car's for my Layout 6 Tank Car's & 6 Box Car's...

I also got Woodland Scenery's Dust Monkey's... They attach to the bottom of the wheels & are designed to KEEP the Rail's free of Dust... The Package states the Monkey's will keep track free from dust & light debris & AID GOOD Electrical Pickup for the Loco's  But Not intended as a way to clean the Rail's...

I have seen this Product many times @ my HS & was thinking of trying this item out in the past wile I was in the Building Stages of my layout...
I am now doing some running sessions on my layout now & going to run the Monkey's...

My Questions are what should I expect..... What are some of the Con's if any... What will I benefit from the Monkey's....
I am Afraid the Monkey's will Hang up going across my switches in REVERSE when Doing "YARD SWITCHING"....
They seem like a Good Product to use & will be handy I like how you can HARDLY see the Monkey's in Mid-Train once there coupled to the bottom of the Wheels... Going to do some Run's Today with the Monkeys "Took a Vacation Day from Work to play on my Layout" LOL.....

Any suggestions or thoughts will help I never Used this Item...

HO / Starting back Up "Building my HO Layout"
August 14, 2014, 09:13:38 AM
Hi everyone... I have not been on the forums in a wile.... Well Summer is winding down & just put in a $150.00 order of Woodland Scenic Scenery online & starting to start back up Finishing up my HO DCC Layout I am 70% complete now & I am hope full I will have all scenery done by Christmas Time... I do have a few Questions

What's the best way to keep dust off a Layout..... I installed Black Fabric "over the winter time last year" I got from a local textile shop up on the Floor Joists & seems to be curbing a lot of the dust...

I started using a TRICK my buddy uses on his layout WHAL Barber shop clipper oil on the Rails.... "But I don't really see a difference yet" has anyone else tried this....

I use a Bright Boy to clean my Rails Now... My Buddy uses a Car to clean his rails he pulls along his layout.... I have Dust Monkies but I am not really sure of there effects yet... Because no matter when I run them there always dirty. My buddy said I should not run dust monkies until I am completely done with scenery... He's Got a point there I think...

Hi everyone... I have a bit of a issue hear I am Forever cleaning my HO Layout Track... My Layout is 16ft x 6ft wide & I am always cleaning the track rails on a constant basis... My Layout is in the Basement I keep it clean on a daily basis vacuuming the rug's dusting the wall's I even vacuum the floor joists from dust... & every time it seems to get dirt on the track A Fellow Friend & Neighbor that run's with me on my Layout suggested I put in a drop sealing over the entire layout... But that could be a costly upgrade for me since I am spending all my extra cash into completing my layout this summer.... I DO have an thought of getting Black Fabric from a Local Textile Shop in my Area & hanging & stapling up the Fabric across the hole layout until I can get the money to do a drop sealing... My main Goal is finishing up my Railroad this summer & enjoying my Railroad & Fruits of my Labor.... What do you guys think I should do...

HO / Acela spectrum Passenger Train
March 31, 2014, 09:58:02 AM
Hi Everyone..... OK I have a concern about my Bachmann Acela Spectrum Train.....

What's with the Deal with this Train......
Every Thursday Night I have a few of my fellow Railroad buddies over for a running session & I am asked on a daily basis if I would sell my Acela Passenger Train & I politely tell my friends I am not interested in Selling the Acela... My Friends tell me they would love to have my Train on there Railroad layout........

My Dad got me this Train set @ a Train Show we both attended @ the time the guy sold it to us for $170.00 he org wanted $220.00 but by the end of the Day "We attended the show on it's last day" He made us an offer & we excepted guess he just did not want to restock the Train set in his hobby shop store is all we could figure.... The Acela came with EZ-Track & DC controller 4 passenger cars & 2 Loco's Head Loco is powered & Rear Loco is a Dummy Un powered  Lead Loco # 2003 Rear Loco is #2004

Only thing I did was upgrade lead Loco to DCC & Sound
& Fully Weathered the hole Train...

WHY does my Friends always ask me if I would sell this Train my one Friend said Bachmann does not make the style Loco I have... & Bachmann replaced the locos with a HHP Loco...
What is the Value of this Train ??????....

I am now thinking I have a Train worth some Value I have my Acela Train since 2004 " I have this Train a wile now The Show we got it from No longer comes to my Area  "It Was Called the Broken Rail Train Show" Held @ Lehigh University.. & the Show was put on by a Local Model Train Club called the Lehigh & Keystone Valley Model Railroad.. This Club also made an Issue of Model Railroader recently..... Did anyone attend this show Its was ONLY held 1 time...  So I don't even Recall the Year this Show was... I know it was a wile though.....

Any Help or insight would be helpful....

HO / Bachmann DCC Loco
March 01, 2014, 10:36:28 AM
Hi everyone....

I was just wondering if anyone has this Loco...
Bachmann DCC equipped Loco UP # 2024   "GP-38 - 2 Second Generation with Turbo"     It's a Bachmann Sliver Series Loco

I put in a different DCC & Sound Decoder " Can't say brand Don't want to get in trouble by Yard Master "
& Fully Weathered it... & I got to Admit this Loco Runs very well & everyone that comes to visit my Railroad layout
likes the Loco & my 1 buddy who has a Layout of his Own Uses a Different Brand of Locos on his layout & even he said this Loco Runs Very Well for a Bachmann.... & I got to admit it's one of my Favorite Locos to run...

Does anyone Else have this Loco & uses it on there Layout..

HO / NCE DCC controls
February 28, 2014, 09:24:55 AM
Hi Everyone.. I got a few question's

The other night "Tuesday" I decided to take a break from doing scenery on my layout & invite my neighbor buddy over for an operating session.
& I let him be the Yardmaster & I took the main layout operations & industry's Switching.

Onto the issue... I wanted him to bring a train out of the yard after making a few rolling stock moves track switches & couple up to other rolling stock. I had 2 Loco's in a consist set up on my NCE controller to run together 1 loco forward & 1 loco back both loco's where Dash-940 B's... My buddy said he cant move them But there "RUNNING" He heard them STARTUP when I turned on the Track Power... I can move both Loco's with my Main layout controller witch is the NCE Power Cab +...

So I entered a consist with his controller in the YARD and it worked Fine.. & that Controller is a NCE controller too it's just a normal cab DCC one... My Neighbor said maybe I need to unplug the cord from main layout & plug into YARD port plug "since that controller had the program in it.. I am puzzled by this I said to my buddy I should not have to unplug controllers & designed my Layout So 2 people can use & have there own Controller...

My Question's is WHY did 1 controller work & not BOTH of them

Other question is with the controller in a consist I cant "Select LOCO" & enter Loco's #'s to use that loco "it comes up on Screen its in a consist mode & cant select different loco....

How do I fix this so both Controller's can be used in sink with each other to my Railroads operations. I am sure it is some type of programming with the Controllers itself & do not believe any of my 5 LOCOS have decoder problems.. All my Locos work & run Fine by themselves in no consist mode.... & help would be great & don't forget to check my pictures out in show us your layout........

FYI... Both Controllers work very well my Mainline & Yardmaster controllers work ALL 5 of my Locos just running EACH LOCO by themselves
& I don't run more than 3 @ any time I believe my NCE system can handle up to 6 @ one time...
