Hi all,
I have installed a reverse loop on my layout with Cobalt switch machine and PSX-AR to control the polarity and the switch machine. Can anyone advise about current trip settings for J6 on the PSX-AR ?. When a loco reaches the gap in the loop it stops, sometimes my short circuit light comes on bright, sometimes just dull. Sometimes no light comes on, the switch changes and the loco restarts them moves off through the switch. I think it is to do with the current trip settings but don"t have enough "nouse" to work it out or courage to start experimenting blindly. I need an answer as simple as " put wire in A and connect to B " if that is possible. I run the usual Bachmann locos, 2-6-0, Forney, Davenport, Porters etc all on DCC.

Hello all,
After 18 months deliberation I have hardwired a Locksound decoder into my Porter.
Replace cab with Banta all weather model.
Sound projected out thru floor.
Covered decoder and speaker with Banta floor provided.
Head room is a bit low but not noticeable.
Improved pick up by adding a slider between drivers as well as usual pick up off driver rears.
Painted black its not to noticeable but does job well.

Problem Light comes on when in reverse.
Changing direction in Locsound makes no difference.
Do I just reverse wires to light ?
( looking for easy answer )

Hello all,
Plugged a Bachmann DCC decoder into my DCC ready Shay that was left over from an up grade on my DCC on board Climax.
Did this to check things out before I instalL a Loksound decoder in the Shay.
Default address is 3, ok.
Light on / off, ok.
No movement at all. ?
Any suggestions?

I have a Lokprogrammer.
Do you think it will read the cv's?

Hello,

I am putting a loksound decoder into my DCC ready Climax.
2 wires on the existing circuit board are very short and prevent the speaker and enclosure being fitted under the circuit board.
These 2 wires go to a small orange "thing" with a + and - terminal.
What does this thing do

I need to determine what decoder / speaker to attempt to install in my 0-4-2 Porter, 2-6-0 Mogul, Climax, Shay, Railtruck and Davenport. I have read various articles on most installs and understand that space is a premium in some instances.
The Climax and Shay is DCC ready. The Railtruck and Davenport is DCC onboard.

Is there a simple list out there which puts it all together and possibly also advise on minimum performance and top of the line performance ?

Such as

0-4-2   decoder   speaker
2-6-0   decoder   speaker
Climax  decoder   speaker

etc, etc

I want to try and get it right the first time and avoid the "if only I bought that one" scenario.
I figure end users may know the answer rather than retailers.

Hello all,
Just connected my LENZ 100 to a loop of track to get comfortable with DCC. This is first DCC experience. Ran a Bachmann 0n30 Davenport and Forney. When stationary they give off a buzzing sound. Any ideas ?

I was wondering if anyone has mixed HO wagons with On3O locos.

What I am considering is some ore wagons in the latest Micro Mark catalogue  ( 71047 DM&R ore car set ) behind a Porter ??

Any thoughts appreciated.

Hello all,
I am building a shelf layout and am intending to use Blue point switch machines. I am using Peco Electrofrog points. I will modify them to make "DCC friendly". I believe the Blue points will also power the frog.
Does anyone have any comments on the Blue point switch machines as I will need to install 40 off eventually.
